| News Comment | Things turn toxic as hapless QPR lose yet again - Report at 13:27:44
Scary thing was the acknowledgment in the Stan stand that this was the best team he could have put out ( bar possibly Tim for JoJo) and we actually all felt we stood a chance. Player for player are Preston better? , possibly not, but unfortunately this is a team game. Our fall from grace is even worth significant column inches in The Times Sport section ( sorry I am a Times Reader) with Rod Liddle ( Wall supporter) suggesting serves us right for the way we treated Warnock and how that is now biting us back. Also Clive you are in excellent company because he mentioned even more journos than I realised are Superhoops fans. Going down btw, for the 1st time I thinK it isn’t even going to be tight and I am a really annoying optimist. |

Class Clive, makes you wonder how that effects those with the knocks. Be good to see Paal and Laird on the bench when fit, sends a message. You are right we have all been calling for 3/5 at the back, shows Sam Field is almost our most important “ team†player. Stupid thread btw. Andy |

Surely Taylor Richards to get his 1st start? Any chance we could have the Haka guy as part of a back 3? Need to score as no way is there a clean sheet here with Hugill and Washington up front |

It’s just crazy!! Forget Les and co, you could argue they had got it right as we were top of the league with these players and the brightest new English manager in charge. A dream turning into the biggest nightmare possible in front of our eyes and no end in sight. I love our club, my dad did, my grandad did and they saw similar sh1t. So maybe this is our turn, but feels potentially life threatening. It’s the injuries that get me, basically half a squad missing. Taylor Richards looks like he will be back in blue and white stripes next year. As for Boro, says it all as the 1st 30 minutes of the 1st game at Loftus Road is proving to be the highlight of the season and Willocks goal a thing of beauty. Dream moment 13 minutes into the season. 4-0 is very positive of you….. Andy ( will still by my season ticket next year if we exist) |

Mentioned on other Fred, our point tally would already keep us up last season ( would be 4th from bottom) so aka Kevin Gallen, time to blood in the future potential players. Thing is we will never know how good they could be until the play for the 1st team and they need to play more than once. If the season is almost concluded for us it is the perfect time for NC to build his superhoops from within. None of the B team were brought in ( bar Dixon-Bonner possibly) from MB so hopefully only playing for the club and their own ambitions. Great write up Clive and you know the owners are keeping us afloat so maybe their ambitions match the youngsters, I think they do. On that positive note think we will lose today. |

Definitely cry, feel sorry for you Clive, Hull isn’t the best place at the best times but sounds like the worst. Hit the nail on the head, bar a few the rest are suffering from PMBS ( post MB syndrome) that also seemed to hit the Villa players too. All points valid, he needs to keep us up and then more changes will have to happen. Presume Ilias still trying too hard? I see reports of Armstrong going out to Shed Wednesday or Lincoln on loan, shame we can’t further loan out the players on loan with us. The so so frustrating thing is these players have the potential. Potential never won the league though…. Feels like a big game next week, though I say that every week |
| News Comment | Swans stalemate brings up another unwanted set of six for QPR - Report at 12:35:46
Spot on Clive, all about the second goal we never scored. Can those who knock LD now see why Milwall want him? Actually would have had him as our best player on the day. Stating the bleeding obvious need a win to calm the nerves, at least we are not losing. |
| News Comment | Royals fall victim to Roberts' redemption story - Report at 09:21:55
Top report Clive and can totally relate to the stories, can tell you stones and my parents conservatory were not a good match when aiming at my sister and missing. My mum still hasn’t forgiven me, My prediction was a non-defeat before the game and actually look at our last 5 league games,we have only lost 1. I know the whole Blackburn thing and 3 points for a win but actually getting into a rhythm of not losing is a step forward, if only the ref had blown his whistle 20 seconds earlier against SU. Lowe is a good player for us, NC says Chrissy is trying and getting fitter. Roberts scoring is bound to add confidence. You know I am an eternal optimist ( wife can’t understand) and ( despite Fleetwood) have started looking up not below us. I think next Saturday is a big game for so many reasons, a full weeks proper training, confidence, maybe a bit of JoJo and JCS and NC with us now a good few weeks. Real 12th player game….. Andy |
| News Comment | Last second heartbreak for vastly improved QPR - Report at 20:03:34
Brilliant. Clive, been waiting all day. My 43 mile drive back to Reading was with a smile and ( I can’t believe this) my non football supporting wife checked the scores on line to ascertain my mood after me kicking the cat ( not literally) following the Luton game. Same players, different team. Ozzie was awesome, Roberts finally showed us his real self, Willy and Illy scaring the sh1t out of premier league players. Lyndon definitely m.o.m It was quiet but I think that was for a simple reason, I reckon there are a few less fingernails in West London. You can’t bite your nails and scream COYRS at the same time, I tried and failed. Hoping a few ( Sam particularly) gets a rest next week. Amazing grub in the C&S so almost a perfect evening. |
| News Comment | Happy New Year? Preview at 12:49:36
Clive I only know LFW so unsure if other clubs fans have the benefit of something similar. 2022 was a great year for you with amazing reference in the Times and the fact the club has 2 Times journalists with the faith. Trying not to blow smoke up you but on the way to the ground we hear conversations that are basically instigated by reading your works, you are truly the Rs “ influencer†. Please don’t forget that, because that makes you important to all of us. Happy New Year, we do actually have the makings of a good team, they need our support tomorrow. Meeting my mate Belchers for some Thai food in the C&S before the game, if we do bump into each other what’s your drink? |
| News Comment | Luton humbling highlights scale of Critchley’s task — Report at 10:29:57
Guys I get all the comments and don’t agree with all ( except CW, what is going on?) all I know is not turning up to support isn’t going to help. Saying that my wife told me the other night not to go Monday as the knock on affect at home not great. Somehow we have to keep the faith and I think all agreed Critchley was the best of those available, the irony being he and Rob Edwards could have been in opposite dugouts if timing was different. I still don’t get why with a squad of so many no-one seems to be able to get the ball in the back of the net. Hopefully see you all Monday? |
| News Comment | Sweet little lies - Preview at 22:48:18
Clive your brain must be knackered with so many reports over so few days. No idea how big the crowd will be tomorrow but looking forward to a bit of a Critchley bounce in the Stan stand ( thank god there is no standing in the Stan stand) There is a common theme on the forums with the big question mark over Taylor Richards, injured or just not chosen? He looks good every time I have seen him on the pitch. Unsure why but I suspect some interesting selections tomorrow. Any chance of 5 at the back ( not his style). Sort of feels like a big game that could influence the rest of the season, especially with the traffic jam in the league, which feels appropriate with rail strikes. COYR’s |
| News Comment | Out of the darkness — Report at 12:40:00
Thanks Clive, more than a great report. Winning at Preston, so far North I am surprised the team weren’t suffering with nose bleeds etc. I only saw the highlights, is Chris Willock starting to look fit or as obviously unfit as Burnley? Talk about the right result at the right time. Andy |
| News Comment | In the Bleak Midwinter - Report at 18:25:24
I am no coach but football seems to be so much about player confidence and togetherness etc. The mobbing of Kompany rather than the scorer for the 1st goal said so much about them, I presume Paul Hall had no such concerns if we scored 1st. They were 1st to everything and a great team to watch with all the confidence we had less than 2 months ago. Hall was right to pull Willock off at half time, I agree I think he is nervous about the hamstring and missing his mate. I thought Mide looked our best player and at least had a go as did Lyndon. Like the rest of you I was freezing but me and my mate Belchers genuinely felt sad, not pissed off, not angry but sad. Ever the optimist I genuinely feel we have good guys coming in, hoping he sees we have 2 great wingbacks so may consider a shape to make benefit from that fact and yes we have a strong 1st 11. Can’t work out why Taylor Richards didn’t come on after his performance in the Scottish friendly. Everyone keep the faith and that’s for a 60 year old !!! |
| News Comment | Wigan the latest to suffer on QPR's Field of dreams - Report at 22:56:44
Real accurate assessment of the game, JoJo and Tim coming off made a massive difference. Chair, Field and Lyndon the stars. Wigan will take points off others. Does anyone know how Chris Willock is doing? Great report as usual |
| News Comment | Pulled over next to them and said "what you worried about?" — Preview at 09:20:17
So apologies I am a Times reader but Clive have you read read the Giles Coren Comment section and what Mick staying meant to his son. You know MB is clever and yes he has a plan and we are step one of it but there will the younger hoops there today where it is really simple, loyalty, integrity and leadership. Matt Dickinson ( Times Sport journalist) also a season ticket holder so Clive you are in great company, I hope they read your stuff. I keep saying it’s the hope that kills you but for all of us, even those who I couldn’t believe what they were writing in the forum, the hopeometer has just risen another level. So excited about today….. Andy |
| News Comment | All eyes on the boss as QPR soar to the summit — Report at 09:18:13
Well done Jordan, in some ways the easiest report to write ( performance) and the hardest to write ( background and context). Totally agree on Sam Field, how many minutes has he played so far this season? That is some engine. Despite the background confidence was oozing through the team, so glad that the Jekyll and Hyde character that is Lynden Dykes is currently the scoring CF one, he was great again. In the SB stand we were all looking for signs from Mick and in the C&S everyone I spoke to seemed to feel he had gone. So yesterday was a good day after a great night ( even though we didn’t know it). I am 60 years old and my excitement levels for tomorrow are really pissing off my wife, actually she is pleased for me ( a 1st in a football context) |
