Absolutely disgraceful treatment of football fans... 19:45 - Feb 18 with 4257 viewsColombiR

...yet again.

Hull fans being forced to travel on official club transport in order to go to match in Huddersfield. Thanks to the nasty bastards of the West Yorkshire Police.

Fair play to Hull for reducing travel prices, but this is absolutely unacceptable.
People suggesting a boycott, but unfortunately that's probably exactly what the police want.

Any history of trouble between Hull and Huddersfield?

What was that song Hull used to sing? Something about blowing Londoners up on the tube?

Poll: Are we staying up?

No sympathy for them. You can buy a 3 bed detached up there for the price of a train ticket

Ah well, here was I thinking it sets a dangerous precedent for all football fans.

But no, I should have remembered the police are very cautious about which football fans they treat like animals, and only focus on the minority who behave like morons.
No, they would never tar all football fans with the same brush. Ever.

Silly me.

There was an example of a Burnley fan who lived in Blackburn about 300 yards from Ewood Park. In order to go the Balckburn v Burnley game, he had to drive to Turf Moor to board an official coach that went past his house. After the game he was coralled onto the coach to go back to Burnley where he could pick up his car to drive back the way he came.

The situation with policing is often ridiculous.

God knows how they'd handle us in the same situation. I personally know of fans from Derbyshire, Nottingham and Stoke and I know there are others ranging from Moray to Cornwall.

we had it with millwall the other year,
people were just put on trains that were going in the opposite direction to where they were going, and this was on top of the fact we were kept in for about an hour

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

It's a weird one this. About ten years ago the rugby league team played a cup semi final at Huddersfield that ended with a pitch invasion and them pulling the posts down. It was said that it was down to a lot of football fans joining in and going for a punch up. Very little history of hassle between Huddersfield and Hull football teams, and no history of problems on the rugby side since then. Total overkill and another worrying precedent set.

The day Shittu was sent off at Millwall I was utterly fed up. Had a shit day at work and the last thing I needed was to be stuck behind a fence by spireful police. The biggest danger in these situations is usually the horses anyway.

Ultimately away days are fun not because of the football but because of the train ride, meeting fellow Rs and seeing new pubs. Once you have the freedom to enjoy your day taken away why would you go?

The beauty of having grey hair and not looking yobby is that I have always been able to explain to a policeman that I will go home peacefully in whichever direction I wanted to. I even did it at Millwall the night that we were all shepherded to the station. I don't think they have the right to stop one individual but as part of a "gang" that could pose a breach of the peace type threat I guess they have the law on their side.

Any proper lawyers advice here? (I may need it one day!)

I shouldn't feel sorry for them. There's a reason why they are not trusted.

they helped support cases of stoke fans rounded up by manchester police, loaded on buses and then back to stoke
also a case when newky fans were wrongfully arrested at sunderland...and er my complaint of gates PADLOCKED at palace!!
we get treated like 5hite and are expected to pay heavily for that
dortmund top price is £19....terrace, yes terrace 12 euros!!
i need to check but someone said today that papers had story on bayern munich, season ticket £99 for a modern, state of the art stadium etc...

1st game of season 2005-6, there mob to our left sang "You're just a town full of bombers" a lament to the London Underground atrocities that summer. Nice eh?
Needless to say it got a bit feisty in the car parks afterwards, we got escorted out on specially laid on East Yorkshire buses. That was a great trip down Anlanby Road.
Kunts the lot of 'em

Premier League attendances suggest that even if people aren't happy with ticket prices, they are still prepared to stump up. Nothing will change until enough people start talking with their feet.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Said it before that given say 10 years fans won't allow away fans entry to the grounds , clubs will save a fortune each game on policing , less stewards being needed etc etc

Poll: which is your favouite foot
