I hope Soft Lad and Co have pencilled in a trip to Morecambe tomorrow to suss out our opponents on Saturday?

I know Coleman does n't do Sports Science,Wingers,Cup Games ,"thought-through" substitutions etc etc......

We really need to get something at D&R .Every team in the League is coming up to San Spotty and taking 3 points away by simply watching our shit plan A and fully aware of our many many shortcomings.

Come on JC,it's only up the road!

I gave Eyre until the Yeovil game if I remember correctly - we didn't win and he'd had enough chances. Coleman is nothing like Eyre, he's got experience at this level and I've seen enough good things to think he'll get it right. Maybe not this season but he needs time and our support.

there's absolutely no comparison between the two.

Eyre was 100% useless

Coleman inherited a mess, and took steps to fix it. Away from home, it looks like he has it spot on. At home, it's not worked.

From that you could rightly argued he's halfway there. But the frustration comes from a reluctance / refusal to accept that the plan for home games is wrong rather than how it is implemented. Things won't change unless a change is made.

The Cheltenham and Bradford games showed that there is a genuine wish to see him succeed, and any green shoots will be seized upon, and rightly so.

Away from home against lower opposition he has it far from spot on, which therefore again we must question Coleman's tactics. We've also conceded on average the most goals away from home in the league.

It's been said numerous times but Coleman really struggles to change formations, use the right substitutions when needed. In the league we've been behind eight times at half time and lost all but one, winning none of them.

Scoring the 1st goal has always been important throughout all divisions I guess? All 10 wins we've scored the opener. We've lost 3 when we've scored 1st and drawn 2 also from winning positions. Only twice in 27 games have we been behind and not lost - at arguably 2 of our hardest away games Rotherham and Port Vale strangely enough.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Of course its important but usually the most successful teams are the ones that can deal with being a goal down and come back accordingly. Its hardly surprising that the most successful English club in recent decades, Manchester United, have a big reputation for coming back from deficits. Yes, ideally it'd be best if Rochdale scored the first goal but when you concede as many as we do then its not always going to happen. Whether its mentality, squad strength, tactical tweaks or a combination of all three, the majority of the successful clubs can collect points on bad days, it doesn't seem we can. If you look at the top three clubs in the league, Rotherham and Port Vale have the highest two ratios of Points per Game when behind at half time, Gillingham have only been behind twice. If the first goal was the be-all and end-all then football may as well be played out as a golden goal everytime.
