I was really confident of a win tonight but now after reading Derby's away record I am bloody terrified. Venkys wanted to stop Eustace flying the coop, but they were too chicken to broach the topic. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

No QPR match is ever a lock. Particularly for the team in hoops. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) | Login to get fewer ads

Oh, it's Eu again - Preview on 19:28 - Feb 14 with 767 views | stainrods_elbow | Informed and eloquent analysis/opinion about a still youngish coach who, for me, doesn't exactly exude passion and charisma and still has it all to prove in terms of really taking a team on over a meaningful period of time, however. For me, he wasn't the answer to carry on as QPR manager post-Warburton - he was part of the problem with the team's managed decline, and there were certainly one or two raised voices here at the time, mine included, that repeatedly pointed out the serious deficiencies in the coaching during what was a dire trough in he team's form over at least 3-4 months. I don't really find it odd that he left Kidderminster, as it was a massive rise up the football pyramid for him from National League to the Champ, and he was hardly going to turn down an approach by his former manager McClaren, having played under him at Derby, (who, even if I never warmed to his soapy style, has impressive credentials in the game with Man U and England etc.). I don't know the strange-sounding ins and outs at Blackburn, and nor do any of us, but Eustace now needs to bed in at Derby, stay for at least two or three years, and polish his mojo, to consolidate his credibility. Not starting tonight, obviously. [Post edited 14 Feb 23:19]
