QPR v Derby match thread 08:56 - Feb 14 with 28832 viewsBeckenhamhoop

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these.

We beat Eustace only a couple of games ago and I reckon we’ll beat his team again. I’d also like to see Colback and Morgan as the deeper laying two in midfield and Kolli given a chance after an hour or so if he’s recovered from his recent injury/illness (?). I think he’s been hard done by recently considering the amount of goals and assists he’s had.

Rangers 2 Rams 0

C’mon you Soooooopah…

Our back line is looking as shaky as it did on Tuesday. Bit worrying.

From BBC....

"My oh my!

There could have been another exquisite goal from a striped shirt."

Striped! Outrageous

After a pretty turgid first twenty minutes, Chair's goal has really brought Rangers and the game to life. Really hope we score more. So nice to see Rangers doing the business at LR again.

Salvesen had such a poor first half for Derby, he's packing it in to start up a shipping line.

Well.... if someone told me I'm the first 25 mins we would be 2 up at half time... I think I would have thought they were mad

Derby were far the stronger, the faster, and were all over us. We were right up against it. They are a big physical side and we're bullying us everywhere

Then a bit of Chair magic... and it was pure magic, the curl on that shot was sublime.

And then it just changed. We found some rhythm and some cohesion and got a second. Poor bit of keeping by the keeper, pushing it straight to Saito but a lovely cool finish

Saito for me is in danger of becoming a legend... the lad is everywhere, and we must make sure we can keep him... love the lad

Frey also having a good game, and that snap shot was fantastic. Varane also having a decent game.

So we need now to just keep a clean sheet and be the perfect night. Was saying to my nephew that Derby were us in October ... not playing badly, but concede a worldly, then a mistake, and the game is uphill....

Long time since I have seen a footballer who enjoys his football as much as this lad. Bet he is grateful for he chance as well...unlike a lot who have come through our doors in recent years. Cult hero deffo 😎

We’re having more success by playing longer balls and bypassing our midfield. When you should be putting your foot on Derby’s throat Im not sure Field and Varane are what is required.

I thought that shot moved a little both ways on the replay but my eyes are old and bent.

Bloody Roman TV. And as for the media coverage…

Midfield is awful. Field is not 8.

That korean looks lost.

Way to go to find negatives 👍

I reckon the.players should put 10 quid in a pot every time they pass backwards then give the money to a local charity.

Glad were winning but the back passes annoy the heck out of me especially when the players are all running up field.... that happened more than a few times tonight.

Would like Frey to get a goal.

Also want to see more of Yang

Varane again today, won't get all the credit, but showing me there really is a player in there. Think that is a great signing.

The announcement of the Saito permanent deal is going to be a real slam dunk for Nourry isn't it

It was. Saito could have just lashed instead of taking a touch around the keeper.

That was fantastic quick thinking to take a touch when virtually everyone else would’ve hit it first time probably straight at the keeper.

I don’t know what the turning point was in the game but it really pivoted in our favour and for the first time in a while we capitalised on that with another goal.

Frey is leading the line well and pulling others with him.

I’d get another midfielder on or bring Smyth in and it’s got potential for a few more goals for us .

Very nice first 45. So much energy all across the park. It's lovely to see Dreamboat Ronnie stepping up into midfield again. And Koki is playing a blinder.

Really pleased for Illy tonight - great strike.

2-0 h/t. One spectacular, one clinical, so that's pleasing of course. Other than that, not very creative or convincing, and Derby, who shaded the half for me, may feel they're a bit unlucky not to have scored one at least.

If Marti feels a midfield two of Field and Varane is ever going to do the business, he's wrong.

Plusses

Chair's superb goal, all-round involvement, and impressive part in Koki's second.
Paal has been decent.
Saito charmingly enterprising as ever, and a good goal.
Frey not a goal threat, but has foraged well.

Minuses

Varane little more than a passenger.
Yin has hardly got into the game (though very early days for him) - Smyth needs to come on for him at h/t/on the hour.

I'd also like to see Edwards bring the ball out and break the lines once in a while a la Macca, especially in a side like this that is so inadequate in midfield. I think he has the talent, and wants to, but is either too tentative or under some kind of conservative instruction from the bench.

Overall, though, a lot happier wiht the score than the performance.

Subs: Colback for Varane; Smyth for Yin; Alfie for Frey later on.

You're welcome! ;-)

We didn’t start the game well so a Chair special came at a very good time and settled us down. Fantastic finish from Saito, to take a touch in a crowded penalty area and then place it was super cool.

The game is far from over as Derby are creating opportunities so come on urrrssss, concentrate, keep fighting and let’s take these points.

Paal must have been working on his corners since the Coventry game. Nice delivery.

It really should be an easy fix: forget near post flick ons etc, just get Jimmy Dunne on the far post and tell them to hit it long.
Two half decent corners so far.

Fckin awful yet winning. Field/Varane is devoid of creativity, really surprised they both started.

Dunne not happy with the Korean. Chair looking good. Bring Morgan on, please!

QPR v Derby match thread on 21:00 - Feb 14 with 1030 viewsderbyhoop

I stop predicting Chair as 1st scorer and ge does that. Then Koki is calm personified for the 2nd.

On Downside, Field and Carane have had zero influence and we've barely won a header outside the danger areas. The 3 midfield giants (sic!) are going to have to do better.

However, I can't see Derby coming back. Just like to see us improve our GD.

Again, why is 'the Koraen' the only player in your post you seem unable to name other than by his race?
