Andrew Gwynne, a Labour junior health minister, has been sacked from that post, and suspended from the Labour Party, for offensive posts he made on a closed WhatsApp group called‘Trigger Me Timbers’. There are around a dozen members of the group, which includes a second MP and various Labour councillors in the Manchester area. So far this second MP has not been named. Apart from the headline quote of a spoof message to resident who complained about refuge collections, there are various other anti-Semitic, racist and sexist remarks.
“Dear resident, F*** your bins. I’m re-elected and without your vote. Screw you. PS: Hopefully you’ll have croaked it by the all-outs.'”
I’m waiting to see the one about the Deputy Prime Minister engaging in a sex act.

Guys a block head and doesn’t deserve a role in public office.
TBF to Labour, they’ve not dicked about and have suspended him straight away. If he’s found guilty, I hope his local party deselect him and he gets booted out of parliament at the next available opportunity. | | | |

The commentariat is asking what action is being taken regarding other Labour Party members in the WhatsApp group. We have now seen the sackings/forced resignations of Haigh, Siddiqi and Gwynne, not all straight away, so it is bit of a stretch to say this is one isolated individual. There have been other probity issues involving senior figures. I think the Party will find that "nothing to see here" won't wash.
