Team Spirit - Definitely in Evidence Here 09:57 - Jan 23 with 709 views | numptydumpty | We have had periods in our not so distant past when every single player seemed out for themselves. Even the Taraabt season, when it was about the man, never have seen such team togetherness as our squad as right now. Considering so many young players and many from far flung place around the globe, I think team bonding and togetherness.has clearly been grown within the entire squad. Saito and Smyth interview was brilliant. You can see end of each game, we get to cheer individually the game changers and are pushed forward by others.Players on the bench or taken off, all celebrate together. Saw it when Frey jumping up and down after being subbed, Alfie is one that the gets excited if we win a throw in. Am sure Marti and his team have a lot to do with this. He can see players strengths and comes across as very approachable but also very professional too. Definitely shows a lot of support for players but can also make the tough decisions for the good of the game. With the modern way of operating in all aspects of life, am certain there must be people who actually contribute to ways in which the team can become more engaged with each other, in the sense that they all seem like a group of mates, having fun together. Am very very aware, that this is all very easy to see, if we consistently getting such positive results, but am sure there is an element of truth in it and it's helping the team. The support for Jimmy after the sad loss of his father was a clear example. And the delight when Celar finally broke his duck this season. Yes you can still win, if the players all can't stand each other, but in contrast to some dreadful squads we have had in the past, it's fantastic to see and I think it's been another key element in our success. Have others noticed this ???

I have felt we have had it for some time, we have a 'proper' team spirit here and even the subs and the players have been replaced during the game are all together despite being disappointed. Winning is a team effort, one or two or three players will not win you the prizes.

They were a team that transparently lacked any type of togetherness: moaning at each other and the ref, heads went down easily, individuals trying to do too much. Not surprised we're now above them.

When things went to rat shit last season, Marti got a tune out of, basically, the same team through pragmatism and togetherness. They started to believe in each other and the team. Results improved, they believed that little bit more. You could see it: they ran harder, covered each other, supported runs, gambled on the ball coming in - all stuff you don't see from a team that's pissed off. I think we're seeing a similar thing now, where players are saying 'it's up to us' and giving their best in every match. Doesn't always work but it's more effective more often!

Yes agree It's much easier to work with others if you all pushing together for the overall benefit than people that hate each other. The players do all seem to respect and like each other and all are delighted when another excels even if they are in their position in the team etc. It's definitely the key to success here. Not rocket science but often completely ignored by some.

Like, 'this is something worth being a part of, we actually want to be a part of it and enjoy each others company.' (Although when we were bottom of the league I did wonder if it might have been a one time thing!)
