Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out 23:26 - Nov 9 with 21850 viewsMarkofthegrove

I'll start by saying, this is not my forum usually. But the artist formally known as Twitter has become an echo chamber of monstrous proportion.

Nourry needs to be removed from his post ASAP before he can do any more damage, there is a vandalism of our club happening and it needs to stop immediately.

But how do we do it? I feel like fans and supporters groups have been weak for a long time now. There were some great folk back when we are in administration that were with QPR 1st.

I've heard rumours of some stuff happening, but it needs to be coordinated and it needs to happen ASAP.

I'd honestly be close to being done with QPR if they sack Marti who is the only bloody good thing about this club right now.

Someone needs to bring this together, protests for protests sake do not work. It needs to have purpose, be targeted and ask the right questions and have the right people involved.

we've had periods in the past when fans have been extremely pizza'd off and the subject of protests comes up... Trouble is there's always plenty of suggestions but no-one can agree on anything. Then you get some people saying 'if you piss off the owners they will just walk away and the club will end up in admin again.' Maybe we just accept that pretty much everyone at the club involved in running it is not very good at it? ... yes it's sh*t but sh*t happens in life.

I don't see why protest against Nourry should particularly annoy the owners. The fact is the owners are next on the list, I suspect, so might concentrate their minds.

Whilst I personally wholeheartedly agree with the OP, isn't the real problem shown by this board in that not every QPR fan agrees? Personally, every QPR fan I know and fans I have spoken to at games believe in Marti and are happy to support him, yet people on here do not and even start threads about wanting him out.

I couldn't disagree more with that and I think Nourry is dangerous to us.

I suspect protest will only happen if / when he sacks Marti, gets an abysmal replacement and we get stuffed at home next game.

However, having been a long time supporter of the owners, I can now see that stance is ridiculous. Yes they keep us going but the decision making is unbelievably, consistently bad. They need to find a way to fix it.

It won't save this season though 😪.

Also, Nourry is CEO & DoF, so the owners would have two positions to fill.
Then you have to pray that the owners get the right people in, and that is not going to happen.

Unless fans go full on at the owners, then nothing will change.

So no, I won't be singing for Nourry out, good idea, but you are aiming at the wrong target.
Nourry is just a symptom, not the cause of the latest clussterfck.

You're right, but symptoms needs to be tackled too.

It's such a weird one with the owners. Protesting against owners is obviously a fine balance, especially in our situation, but is usually provoked - like Reading - if they are evil people (ours don't seem to be), just want to deliberately kill the club (doesn't seem like it), are egotistical maniacs (we don't see them enough) - so we have a combination that makes it difficult to raise collective anger.

There is of course the other point that the presumption some other wealthy person will just be chomping at the bit to take over and replace them is a bit far-fetched and it is better the devil you know.

It's their decision making I want to protest against, not the people themselves. Not sure how that works.

Protest against the owners it’s them who keep employing these clowns it’s them who has ruined this club

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

#take back control of our disorder.

To think the current owners/management are suddenly going to start making consistently smart decisions after 13 plus years of mind numbing incompetence, is, at its absolute best, wishful thinking.

Obviously you are right but where's the next guy with £100m+ willing to throw away?

Maybe we could get a Del Boy consortium together like when they bought Arnie's 250 gold chains.

In all seriousness though, the wealthy / sports mad Americans do buy on potential and for all the money we lose we must be a better proposition than most. Sold out home and away games when having to watch the pony we've had over the last god knows how long. We may not have a limitless potential when it comes to crowds but we all know that our potential will always be bigger than Brentford and Fulham. And look at them. Can't some benevolent mega rich person see that?

Feels like all the against the odds success stories in recent times have come from teams who reinvented themselves somewhere in or between League One and the National League.

The financial constraints on the Championship are far more severe than lower leagues, our stadium size which the owners have done nothing to solve and the handicap that takes on us means we’d almost certainly, in the long run, be better off taking the drop.

It would increase our chances of finding new owners, you’d have to be a fool taking over a club like ours in the Championship, and actually give the existing owners a greater chance of finding a way out.

We’ve gone stale in this division, every successful relegation battle just seems to present a new relegation battle the following season.

I don't think there is a sugar daddy out there and in the near miraculous appearance of one with the necessary smarts, is it time we face the reality?

Even the Captain of the Titanic had a moment of clarity and if we want to avoid that moment being after the iceberg, then maybe we need to accept the path to smoother sailing needs to go through some choppier waters first.

Couldn't agree more! Need a takeover and rid ourselves of this bunch of disinterested millionaires who use the club as a tax write off. Don't blame Marti - blame the board and child CEO.

agree with this post.

Its unfathomable how fans are blaming Marti in this, he's the best thing to happen to QPR in nigh on 7 years or so.

People who still toll the Warburton bell are grating on me greatly.

Warbs was good for the club but Marti could be better if he just had some bloody support this summer.

Does anyone else feel like this is some sort of managed decline? Surely they cannot be this incompetent without it being deliberate.

Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out on 10:01 - Nov 10 with 4401 viewsQPR_Jim

Well I would agree that the owners should go too, that's a lot harder to do because you need someone to want to buy us. Them being at arms length from the club is really the problem and I think that's why low standards are tolerated because the owners aren't around to intervene when it's happening.

In the absence of new owners Nourry needs to go. We need someone with football experience to be DoF and we need a separate CEO. I'd add that we need to be employing people into these positions who care about the club and will demand higher standards across the board. No more remote working from Dubai.

Another person who seems to be getting away without criticism is Lee Hoos. I thought he was a good hire when he first joined and you can see he lost interest over his tenure. It appears to me he employed Nourry to facilitate his move to chairman/retirement. The fact that he's still employed as our chairman while saying he wanted to wind down was also a disgrace but by then I think most people just wanted a more engaged CEO and didn't realise Nourry would be involved as effectively the DoF as well.

So I'd suggest we make this Lee Hoos problem in some way, maybe bombard him with CV's for the CEO role. If football experience isn't an issue, we should all be in with a shot of getting the gig, at least we'd care about the club.

Anyway I think we should make it clear to Hoos that he's not going to have an easy ride, if he wants to be chairman he needs to get involved and we're not having Nourry.

If it ain't, then they're even more useless then we're giving them credit for!

Lee Hoos seemed to lose interest about the time it became apparent we weren’t ever going to be able to find a new site for a stadium.

He guffawed and laughed at new ideas and concerns put to him as if ‘fans’ of any degree had no clue what they were talking about .

Sounds similar to Nourry to me

Okay, so conversely, Nourry came in last year, made the right management decisions, brought in the right players and it all looked good. He got rid of Dozzell to let us get in Hayden and Hayden saved the season. In close season I didn't hear too many fans screaming when Dembele, Saito, Morrison, Nardi, Madsen, Varane and Cesar joined. Perhaps a few questioned getting Varane over Hayden and why we seemed hellbent on offloading Paal but there are always going to be questions. Everyone thought selling Armstrong (with a follow on fee) and Dykes for a combined £3.5m+ was good business.

I'd argue that so far, despite the dismal season that Nardi and Saito have looked like good signings. Madsen and Cesar have been very disappointing so far. Dembele, Morrison and Varane almost too early to tell, with two out of the 3 out a lot and Varane missing 3 games to a red. Also hard to judge in a severely weakened side.

Is Nourry to blame for JCS, Chair, Frey, Paal (who stayed and looked fine), Colback, Dembele, Kolli and Fox all being out for extended periods? Take JCS, Paal, Chair, Frey, Colback out and the team is severely weakened. That's more to do with what we can afford in terms of cover for the squad rather than anything else.

Obviously the stat led buys and loans this season seem to have largely backfired and perhaps we missed a few tricks including not investing in division safety with Hayden (who may have also got injured) and possibly we would have been better getting Langstaff as a forward, although he has only scored 1 in 12 for Millwall so far.

My argument is that squad depth and our recruitment strategy have been the obvious issues. Not having a 3rd experienced at EFL level forward and not disclosing deal lengths have all been errors. The club is run on a show string and that hasn't changed. What Nourry inherited hasn't changed. The club has been hamstrung since the massive fine and has done well not to go under.

Belk for me is far more culpable than Nourry and perhaps he needs to swing the axe there or appoint a far more crass roots approach to finding players here in the UK rather than looking abroad.

But the reason we sit rock bottom is more to do with losing the spine of the team to extended injuries and just not having the depth of squad to then compensate. We don't have a magic money tree. It's a culmination of all the mistakes Fernandes's era left us in. So we can slaughter Nourry for some mistakes or just realise that we are here because of bad mismanagement from an owner who is no longer here.

You make it sound like Nourry orders a Madsen, sends it in a 6 ft 4 package to Marti’s office via DPD in a one hour time slot and our manager excitedly unwraps it shouting ooh what have we got here then?

It’s possible I guess, but extremely unlikely.

That's a fair assessment, fella.

However, the problem is that as it currently stands, KJN/QPR's January 2024 looks more of a blip and with everyony having the benefit of time to make big and get those big decisions right, we haven't. And with no wriggle room for failure, the decisions of the summer have diluted those six months earlier.

But even looking in from afar: one left back, two strikers, and gambling the farm on untested foreigners from softer leagues was a huge gamble and, thus far, it ain't working. The performance manager operating out of the dessert with injuries rising and if players with histories of injuries as well, is not helping also.

Good post.
Unsuitable player recruitment and excessive injuries are the main reason we are bottom of the table: I’d look at the recruitment and medical teams before the owners, Nourry or Cifuentes as that’s where the issues are.
