Glimmers of hope extinguished by the same old problems. 23:03 - Oct 19 with 1299 views | A1079 | There have been glimmers of hope in our games recently but that hope has been extinguished by what is now age old problems:- - failure to capitalise on the rare occasion we take the lead (though we have taken the lead in the last 3 games); - failure to protect our leads; - consistently poor defending no matter whom we seem to play in those positions and with that rare clean sheets; - lack of resilience and mental strength when we concede; - inability to come back from a losing position; - consistently concede late in games; - lack of tactical nouse; - poor use of substitutions KWP and Dibling are our stand out players but I don't fancy our chances to retain them.

Agree Berber. Alot of those issues have been prevalent for a number of seasons including during Ralph's reign. We don't seem to get managers or coaches who are not just tactically naieve or incompetent (depending on which way you look at it) but seem unable to instill a strong mental, never say die fighting attitude when things go against you or to take sides to the sword when we have the chance to.

I don’t give a fook about styles of play, for now I just want a manager who makes us a team of horrible b’stards that are horrible to play against and you have to earn a victory against us, coupled with giving the officials a difficult afternoon and not timidly accepting poor decisions. You are right A1079, this has been an issue since Ralph. [Post edited 20 Oct 9:53]

KWP and Dibling are able to get balls into the box and Archer looks like he's could be our main source of goals. Problem is it has taken all this time for us to look effective., and RM couldn't see this. Maybe we couldn't play this way for 90+ minutes, but that's where you need to stiffen the defence. On all aspects of football strategy he is inept.
