Of all the signing calamities we've had he's up there with Ali Dia. I'm sure he's a good player, but how we pay 10 mn for a known injury prone player while he's still injured is tantamount to complete incompetency in all departments of the recruitment team. Our back office is a complete joke including manager recruitment.

Stewart last 25 minutes. on 18:10 - Oct 5 with 1789 views | dirk_doone | I have a lot of sympathy for him. That money won't last the rest of his life, although the damage done to his body may well do. I'm reading David Armstrong's autobiography, and he ended up a charity case, in poverty and pain, unable to even jog or kick a ball with his children. It went the same way for Ron Davies and many other ex-Saints. Most footballers leave school early and have no other profession to turn to. I'm sure he didn't want it to go this way. When sport is your life, it must be terrible to end up crippled with injuries. I really hope, for his sake, that he is able to recover from them without serious long-term damage. Not sure I agree, the modern day footballers are earning a lot more than the likes of Ron Davies & David Armstrong ever did, who incidentally were both full International players at the top of their trade, unlike Ross Stewart. Alright it's sad that any player should suffer as many injuries as Ross Stewart. But Ron Davies had to rely on charitable contributions to get a hip replacement & Alan Ball ( World Cup winner) sold his World cup medal to provide for his family. Not sure Ross Stewart will ever be worrying about paying his Utility Bill.
