We can't alter the climate. If we stopped all co2 overnight it will take hundreds of years to have an affect. This is why Greta Thunberg is talking such nonsense when she goes on about her generation being victims - they won't see any difference

Acid rain is pollution from nitrogen oxide, that can be eliminated and have a effect. There was never an ozone hole either, just a thinning in some areas

Well it'll be global destruction at the same time everywhere so...both. The plus points are, it'll stop those pesky immigarnts It'll stop those pesky female refs and footballers It'll stop the climate extinction goons It'll stop wars across the planet so, it must be a good thing

Something huge is brewing!! on 15:23 - Mar 9 by KeithHaynes | A war rarely starts on a Sunday, if that helps. Tuesday evening is generally the best shout. I’m more concerned about the army that arrives every day and is escorted on to mainland Britain, housed, fed, watered and given money. That invasion is the most obvious one I’ve seen in my lifetime. |
It seems its an overly sensitive subject hence the lack of discussion , considering the affect its having I'm not sure why.

It's amazing how these problems disappeared after humans addressed them isn't it? Of course, we don't need to do anything about climate change because we'll all be dead.

It's amazing how nature keeps the planet in balance too. Remove a ton of c02 from the atmosphere and it will be replaced by a ton from the ocean and vice versa. It's as if nature has had a bit of practice at this kind of thing | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That's right. Of course, humans spewing out loads of pollution and destroying ecosystems isn't natural. We've tipped the balance.
Something huge is brewing!! on 16:28 - Mar 10 with 841 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | My brother is an absolute conspiracy nutter and I had a quick look through one of his books today whilst over his for Mother’s Day. Apparently it was Elvis who killed JFK because he was jealous of his popularity. John Lennon then killed Elvis for the same reason and Lennon himself was then shot by Michael Jackson. Another bit that made me giggle is that gravity doesn’t exist it’s just the flat earth is moving upwards through space.

No, the balance cannot be tipped. There is only so much co2 on the planet. It's either in the oceans, the atmosphere, or already in fossil fuels, which is basically hydrocarbons from co2 in the first place. Everything is and will be in equilibrium. Yes, these things take a long time, but they balance out eventually

Nonsense. The clue is in "fossil" fuels. I'm not derailing this thread indulging your stupidity.

What do you think fossil fuels are? They are hydrocarbons. Loads of tiny dead creatures that were made from carbon, which came from co2 in the atmosphere. Increased co2 will increase plant life which will increase animal life that will die off and repeat the process again. Wonderful thing nature, isn't it?

They're dead organic matter buried millions and millions of years ago that we're digging up and burning by the thousands of tonnes every day. Do you think that's natural? So plant life is increasing at the moment is it?

I didn't say it will happen overnight. Yes, plant life will increase with higher co2 levels, it's very good for them. Below about 200 ppm, plant life will cease, so we are actually in a period of low co2 not high

It'll take Millions of years to happen. The coal beneath South Wales is about 400 million years old, the gas in our homes about 250 million years old and the oil that produxes fuel in our cars about 160 million years old. Clearly no problem there, we can just wait 400 million years fro the balance to be restored. Theres a bit more to plant life than Co2 mind. Especially if humans keep chopping then down. But that figure is also just wrong. Co2 has been higher than at present. Humans didn't and probably couldn't have existed under those conditions.

It's not going to happen overnight. If we stopped all co2 , it will take centuries to reverse, so chill out and don't worry

Climate change casued by the shift of the Earth's orientation toward the sun. Not Co2 or other greenhouse gases which has caused previous climate change events, and is causing this one. 10,000 years is the blink of an eye.

But we're not taking a ton of Co2 from the atmosphere, we're taking it from organisms that died 100's of million years ago and are spewing it back out today whilst simaltaeneously destroying massive areas of forest for agriculture and the ocean (phytoplankton) through pollution. The ocean absorbs Co2 not emits it.

The oceans emit it too when they warm. So, do you see how it all balances out naturally? It takes time, but it balances out eventually. The organisms that died are hydrocarbons, which contain co2. Same with planting more trees, they absorb co2, but when they die the co2 goes back into the atmosphere or land. There is only so much co2 on the planet, we cannot take it away or add to it, that's why being carbon neutral is not possible
