Only surprise really is that we’re negotiating with Dooley and Done. Other than that it’s as expected.

Yes no news from the club. We can only assume none of them have signed contracts

Not necessarily the case. Very little in the way of news is coming out of the club since Tuesday. Just because there's a deadline for players doesn't mean that will be announced. The released list was filed with the EFL on the weekend and the club didn't announce anything until the Wednesday I think it was?

Even though the deadline has now passed seemingly, I never expected to hear anything this week after the goings on of Tuesday.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

No-one around to make any signings.
No Sporting Director in place and a CEO who has had the rug pulled from underneath him.

Gossip (and it may be only that of course) on this side of the Pennines has Dale linked with a loan deal for Brighton keeper Carl Rushworth.
Based perhaps on the successful season that Bobby Sanchez enjoyed.
He’s actually from Halifax so moving Oop North wouldn’t be such a wrench for him as it has been for other players.

Andy Cannon looking for a move back up north.

Too good for League 2 though.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Fleetwood come in for Andy Cannon. Came through the youth ranks here with Calum Camps, so they know each others' game inside out, and the Cods have just lost Wes Burns to Ipswich, so have a vacancy on the right side.

Its a good shout.

It shows how far we have fallen in the last 25 months.

Sold to Portsmouth in January 2019 - we were a solid League 1 club ahead of bury, Oldham, Salford, Accrington and Bolton.

June 2021 - crisis League 2 club behind the last three of that list above; hopefully still ahead of the Biffos!

Lots of talk about Humphrys to Wigan on Twitter. Hopefully nothing in it but I’ve resigned myself to the notion that he won’t be here next season.

If we do sell Humphrys, it would need to be for a decent fee if we are to make money, due to the sell-on agreed with Southend.

On the Wigan forum, somebody as claimed that Humphrys was seen being shown around their training ground, it may be idle gossip, but i would not be shocked to see him sold. No doubt DB will claim we need the money after our relegation, which was in part down to him penny pinching with the budget last season.

If Humphrys does go, who will score the goals, because the club would just sign somebody who would struggle to score in a brothel, but whose wages are low. I can also see Rathbone being sold for the same reason. If either are sold, it would be not at their true market value, but would potentially reveal the lack of ambition for the coming season within the club.

“Who will score the goals” was a frequent shout when Hendo left. However by the turn of the year there was little concern about where goals would come from. Additionally Humps and Beesley were rarely on the pitch together. So I can’t start chewing my nails yet about the goals tally next season, until the transfer window has closed.
Keeping the goals out, well that’s a different matter. With 2 out of contract and a further 2 released.

Starting to think we'll find out who hasn't signed contracts by the clubs that sign them rather than our own. Deadline is well past now.

Any ideas why we're being left in the dark?

Because the people running our club are not 'fit for purpose'?

Until the club confirms otherwise, you have to work on the theory that we’re broke.

I know that’s not news to long-standing supporters but the grave reality of £1m of loss in 2020/21 plus the frittering away of precious resources means we will be likely to take any decent cash now offer for any player.

The reality of the playing situation will soon hit home and then perhaps we will realise that a car park barrier or executive payrise are only helpful if you’ve playing assets on the field.

You can’t blame the player; it will be a announced as necessity and of course for a fee “undisclosed”.

If we were completely broke would we have offered any contracts?
