With Rathbone on Monday and Done on Tuesday, which player will be announced as signing their contract extension today? I am going for Wilbraham on a one year deal.

It appears that these extensions are being drip fed up until the early bird season ticket deadline on Sunday in an attempt to 'drum up interest'.

Political activism the hijack of Greenpeace and the lie of global warming exposed in one you could say from the horses mouth.

Yeah, but Northumberland is a lovely place.

Northumberland is a great place to visit. Had a cracking walk on the beach going up to Bamburgh and got some Craister Kippers on the way.

DA - did you eat at the Ship? I turned up on spec when I took mum up there and couldn't get in. Gutted. I read about the crab butties and they brew their own beer I believe. On my list of places to revisit.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

I have been to the Ship at Low Newton - the micro brewery there is a treat!

You can walk from the pub along Embleton beach past the golf club and then past the castle all the way to Craster itself.

Good pub at Craster too.

First half of the walk 2 hours.

return leg a bit longer after 6 or 7 pints!!!

Hired one of the cottages in the square by the Ship in 1990 for a week

Been back twice since, busier each time. It used to be a secret bolthole, as well-kept as the ale, but it's usually crammed these days. Can recommend the fish soup too

Yep, it's like a version of paradise

For those who haven't been, imagine the perfect pub on a village green surrounded by quaint cottages, then plonk that down next to a lovely beach, the spectre of ruined Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance with it's main turret intact

Three of them anyway, no Hoti mentioned.

I signed on again until 2020 a while back but it wasn't reported. Expecting a recurring contract between myself and the club going forward for some years to come.

Excellent news about Morley.

Fantastic that 3 young lads through the "system" get there first pro contracts at Dale.

Taveres from Kirkholt as well - There has to be one golden nugget striker that makes us millions in the future.

40 goals in 2 seasons he is a handful playing in his own age group. The tough bit now stepping up.

I would like to think Taveres sits down most games and watches the way Hendo plays!

Pleased with the Morley signing. He appeared to have bulked up last season and looked better equipped physically for first team football. His distribution is quite good and he is decent at set pieces. As with a lot of younger players it is the decision making that needs work, which will hopefully come with experience.

Tavares was prolific at youth team level and has pace, so offers a different option. I'm sure Tony Ellis will be able to work with him on his finishing, positioning etc. He could be, at least initially a decent impact option from the bench to run at a tired defence.

Good deal for Morley and the vlub.
There is a good chance that in the next 18mths he will bring in £££££ if he proves
to BBM he is worth his place in the 11...

Now that leaves.
Aaron Wilbraham,
Kgosi Ntlhe,
Jimmy Keohane,

Plenty of rumours that Keohane will sign.

Hoti is an odd one. If he doesn't sign with us it'll be interesting to see where he does go. Would we get compensation due to his age and the fact we've offered him a contract?

Really pleased about Morley. I firmly believe that with the right dedication he’ll go on to have a career in the football league. Interesting that he says he had other offers - he hasn’t had much chance to show his abilities over the past two seasons so maybe his and/or our academy’s reputations are attracting interest around the country.

Shame. He was really good in the few months BBM was in charge. But then one good half season in the two or three seasons he’s been here isn’t a great record.

Shame. I like the lad. Always tried hard but I feel he was hung out to dry sometimes. Hope it works out for him

Cant blame after the past two seasons....
With BBM playing him it might have caught other teams attentions.
Plus scunny will pay more in wages than Dale.

Disappointing about Ntith, I thought in the defensive midfield role towards the end of last season he was excellent, I am a bit baffled why Keohane as not signed yet, at what point do we withdraw the offer?

Now BBM needs to make some signings, hopefully this week, i.e some defenders and a striker, and if possible Hamilton on loan for the season, or he may use Morley more. I have always thought Morley is a better prospect then Adshead and it will be interesting to see if Gillam loan to Cork City as helped in his development or not.

Looking at the training gallery made me realise that, at least in terms of numbers, the squad actually isn't in as bad shape as I thought it was.

Lillis, Wade

McLaughlin, Matheson, McNulty, Delaney, MJWilliams

Camps, Rathbone, Morley, Dooley, Keohane, Hopper, Bradley

Henderson, Done, Andrew, Gillam, Wilbraham, Tavares

Obviously the big warning signs there are no LB at all (pls no Done) and lack of quality in central defence. Losing EEL, Nthle and Bunney means we've lost 3 of the back 5 that proved so successful in the last few months of the season.

With 6 forwards fighting it out for 2/3 places (and one of those nailed on to play every game when fit) I can't see any more recruits up front, at least not permanently.
