Next Home Secretary ...for some

Asked shortly before on C4 news if she accepted the need for police to have the support of troops on the streets ,replies.....well , it's about Tory cuts to police .

Truly this utter cow should be nowhere near a polical platform

Interviewed in Manchester ,she would have been aware of the visceral evidence of the murders but first thought is to try to score a political point

Words are inadequate to describe this woman

Are there any good socialist/communist states. Corbyn thinks Venezuela has a good socialist leader. They were the richest country in South America, now despite their oil wealth their economy is brankrupt, inflation over 1000%, their credit rating is zero, they can't borrow money to import food and their NHS has collapsed.

Norway, Sweden, Finland, Austria.

All countries where J6P has a far better standard of living and quality of life than his or her equivalent in the UK or US.

Not sure I would call Norway Socialists. It is an oil rich country do to it's small population and vast oils reserves their GDP is huge. At least you can say their government has not wasted it's oils wealth. Similar things can be said about Sweden vast natural resources, it has remained neutral for the last 150 years so does not have to spent billions on defence and an army.

That leaves 2 countries that are well run socialist countries as opposed to about the 50 basket cases in South America, Africa etc.

So "an oil rich country" with a "small population and vast oils reserves " cannot be socialist?

That means Venezuela isn't socialist then.

The failure to answer simple questions you mean?

She's hardly alone in being unable to add up. Depressingly so. The current Chancellor is prone to missing tens of billions.

Like I said, I'm no fan and the prospect of her being foreign secretary is mildly terrifying, but the personal nature of a lot of the criticism takes away for a lot of the very justifiable sort.

I did not say Norway was not Socialist just that it and its people were rich because of the oil and their government was wise to actually invest the oil money for the future and not spend it all now. I just wish other socialist governments would understand this simple policy.

The election ended with a victory for the four opposition right-of-center parties, which won a total of 96 seats out of 169 (85 needed for a majority). The biggest gain was by the Conservative Party, which took 26.8% of the vote, while the governing red—green coalition lost ground; following convention, Stoltenberg's government resigned and handed over power in October. The Labour Party, however, remained the largest party in parliament with 30.8% of the popular vote. The Progress Party also lost ground, but nevertheless became a participant in the new government.

Norway is ruled by a coalition made up of the Four right of centre parties. I think that makes it a non socialist government as Socialist are considered left wing.

A mere blip. The left has been in power almost continuously since 1945.

Labor has been the biggest party in every GE since 1927.

Norway has an universal health care system, comprehensive welfare system,state-owned railway and utilities. Most people would call that a socialist state.

Yep, I thought the worm had turned but no such luck same old, same old.

Natural churn will have to take place and more private sector business to change habits. If Swansea gets City deal, tidal lagoon etc I'm sure priorities will start changing until then red comfort blanket with it's never ending money tree for benefits will be in vogue.

The level of personal abuse that Abbott has taken has been awful.

Criticism about her being incompetent are fair game, about her looks or ethnicity are not I've had many arguments on this site to that end before. But spare me the hypocrisy from those that are equally as personally abusive about May, or Rudd, or any others.

The whole campaign has been littered with hate from both sides. It's sickening.

The MP that's replaced her by the way, is the woman that screamed at a blind bloke because he bumped into her. Also the same woman who employed unpaid interns and sacked paid staff. Oh, and she has a central London flat on expenses. So a fairly typical modern politician.

The sooner this is all over the better. Thank God we only have a day left.

Diane Abbott is an extremely divisive figure, she is clearly not cut out for top level politics. There's nothing wrong in stating basic truisms.

Unlike you to bring a degree of balance into the debate Lisa...

Although I do love the faux outrage on Twitter. "She's only being bullied because of her colour and gender". Of course that's going on, but to use that to defend a lady, who quite frankly holds abhorrent opinions herself simply undermines credible arguments.

They just don't seem to comprehend that when you criticise someone who happens to be a woman or happens to be black that you might just think they're useless or you disagree with them.

Sick of it. It's the sort of nonsense that keeps old battles alive, is criticism of Theresa May sexist? Is criticism of Corbyn ageist? FFS
