I wrote years and years ago that the UK could break up because of perpetual right wing governments in Westminster [both Labour and Conservative] and that the Scots and Welsh might not accept that situation leading to the union breaking up, at that point in time people were laughing, they are not now, I thought the Scots would win independence at the second time of asking, when they got an independence vote I thought they would get between a quarter and a third of the vote, they actually got close on 45%, with all the dirty tricks against them as well.
What's changed in the 10/15 years since I foreseen the possible breakup of the UK in decades to come, due to right wing governments in Westminster not been stomached by Scotland and Wales is that it is estimated that a million English immigrants have come to a small country like Wales in the last decade, Wales has been called West Anglia and who can argue with that, the voting dynamics have changed in Wales, but we have now had brexit and Scotland and N.Ireland voted to stay in Europe, Wales only just voted to leave even with all that immigration, the fact of perpetual right wing governments since Labour became a right wing party is set to continue so the pressures on the UK union will continue, it might even increase. Yes the union is dead as an unintended consequence of the idiotic Brexit.
Its the only positive.
Scotland with all its SNP MPs and new found political awakening will vote Yes next time and be a free Scotland in Europe, as thats the will of the people.
Norn Iron will also come to an arrangement with the Republic to sponsor it staying in Europe, again the will if the people. Plus the land border issue.

Where do you think the millions came from to flood the S Wales valleys at the time of the coal, slate, copper,iron,steel rush?
For well over 200 years Wales has been " invaded" by Johnny Foreigner looking for economic growth. Wales up until the Industrial revolution was sparsely occupied very very few people in Wales have any right to claim they are 100% Welsh.

Rape of a fair country and all that butt, Welsh resources were plundered and the profit often went East into private hands, some of the profits should have been invested in the community as in infrastructure projects etc but more often than not that was not the case the country was plundered for profit.
As regards family tree you speak for yourself, if people have a Celtic surname and no known immigrants in their tree then so be it, if people have a cosmopolitan family tree then so be it, it should not make any difference and certainly does not make any difference to me. 'Welsh speaking Wales' [Y Fro Gymraeg] is West Wales and North West Wales.
'Welsh Wales' is Swansea and the South Wales valleys.
'British Wales' is Pembrokeshire, North East Wales and Cardiff and Monmouthshire.
'Welsh speaking Wales' is getting overrun by immigrants and getting diluted.
'Welsh Wales' is/has lost its heavy industry.
'British Wales' is Anglo centric.
Plaid needed to win 'Welsh speaking Wales' [where they were fairly strong] and 'Welsh Wales' [Swansea, Llanelli, Merthyr, Aberdare, Bridgend, Maesteg, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Ebbw Vale, the Rhondda etc] which was Labour territory but instead of Plaid making inroads UKIP are currently making in roads.
'British Wales' areas are areas that are like little England.
Plaid need to win 2 out of the 3 areas to win an election, they are not going to win in 'little England', their heartlands are getting overrun and although Labour are starting to lose votes in 'Welsh Wales' [Swansea and the valleys], Labour are losing votes to UKIP whereas some were hoping those votes would have gone to Plaid, but there you go, its still all to play for.
