Yeah they were, the co-commentator (Mick Payne I think he was called) was also on the after match phone in with Wagg and seemed to know his stuff. They were saying it could have been a yellow, I disagree and go more along with what Hill said - he was ok with the red card. There will always be a debate around decisions, that's a fact.
Yes its good to debate, Hill said the ref has a difficult choice in those situations as its very open to interpretation. I suppose on another day with another ref Keane gets a yellow and their player gets a warning and not a 2nd yellow/red. Last weeks ref at Barrow could have booked Keane twice early on but instead chose to be more lenient. I'm sure Hill and the players will know beforehand what 'type' the ref is.
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Sorry, that was in reply to DDB.
Sorry, I'd mentioned earlier that the 'radio commentary' had said there was a possible doubt about Keane's red due to the direction Fortune was heading and his heavy touch - but I was told.

You're never happy to lose a game but I thought it was a superb game of football - especially in the second half and I'd much prefer we went for it like we did than settle for a point at a ground where we hardly get anything. I know at the end of the season it might be a point we end up regretting but playing like that, we'll earn more points than we lost.
There were no arguments about the red card. Another ref might not have sent him off but it was the correct decision unquestionably. Agree with comments about Davies' withdrawal in hindsight but it was a sub that allowed us to retain a shape and we adjusted very well to ten men, and it also allowed us the flexibility to go theee at the back in the final quarter.
Thought all the players did well, with Harrison impressing again. He seems a lot more settled than he did at the start of the season and looks a proper player. Thought RBL had a decent game and I'd be happy wth starting with him at left back next weekend.

And that's the difference between"told" and "informed"
What was the view on their lad's first yellow. DalePlayer commentators (it was working at the time) seemed to think it was a shocker of a challenge and could have been a straight red?

I'd say there's an element of doubt in every decision, depending on which side of the fence you're sitting on.
Without the foul, Fortune would have been free to get a shot at Logan who, let's not forget, caused it all in the first place with his poor kick.
It was also fairly clear from behind the goal how clever Henderson was in McGlashan's second yellow card. The camera angle won't see it, but he did instigate it quite cleverly (not Tom).
Lund was subbed before he was sent off. He had been booked, possibly harshly, and was then spoken to a further three times by the referee. On a different day, we could have finished with nine men.
I thought the referee was quite weak and allowed himself to be bullied by the likes of Ferdinand, but I thought he got Keane's red card right and can see why, from his angle, he sent-off McGlashan.
Bizarrely, though, I've just been on the Southend forum and one of their fans says "I can see why Rochdale are up there, but I wasn't impressed by them". Eh?
Agree with all of this. Especially Henderson who does not seem to run around much but has a good footballing brain and knows all the tricks. Was very impressed with him and NML. Pity NML wasn't on from the start. Thought it was a crafty bit of work to sub Lund while the ref was deciding what to do! Good game but very disappointing at the end. Bloody cold as well! Nice little tea bar out of the wind.

Challenge is on these highlights. Late one on Camps. Looks yellow.

It was virtually the same as Rathbone's at Barrow last week, although admittedly there was a post obstructing my view somewhat.

Lund could still have been sent off and the ref would then stop the substitution.
I didn't think his third 'offence' (the handball) was deliberate, but more him trying to control the ball and misjudging its flight. It sort of hit his shoulder area. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to think handball is an automatic yellow card; it isn't.
