Near misses! 14:50 - Jul 14 with 1892 viewssouthernR

As a young lad growing up just south of London I had opportunity to see and support the likes of Palace, Fulham, the scum and even Wimbledon (that ages me!). I used to go with mates to Stamford Bridge but always hated the view (running track) and the threat of violence during the walk from the ground.
I had my eureka moment when standing in the East Paddock watching Sinton, Wegerle, Bardsley, Holloway, Barker and the like that I found my 'home'.

Never looked back and never regretted making that choice, could have been oh so different!

many moons ago I worked with a fellow r who lived next to the Arse in Highbury. When I asked him when did he moved to Highbury, he told me 'I haven't, I was born here'

Went to Arsenal a few times with a mate if we were playing away, guess I was about 14 or so. North Bank was always lively and the Clock End was always up for it, it invariably kicked off around Finsbury Park. Hated the place, but what happened to that kind of support they used to have? Emirates is now like a library.....Lofts Road, still the best ground in the country all these years on.
