Colchester United Academy products 11:23 - Apr 5 with 7633 views | TommoRAFC | "The appearances by Alex Gilbey, Tom Lapslie and Sammie Szmodics in the win against Port Vale on Saturday took the U's to 102 appearances in the first team by home grown Academy products this season! Here's hoping to many more in the years to come." I wonder how many we have produced and how many have been in the past 10/15 years? Off memory Camps, Cannon, Allen, Tanser, Diba, Buckley, Taberner, Thompson, Warburton, Gilks, Byrne, McGivern, Townson, McCourt. Bet I've missed a few... Edit - missed Bell, Gray, Bywater, Warner, Moyo-Modise, Brown and Logan. [Post edited 5 Apr 2015 11:37]

Didn't know that cheers, left McEvilly off cause he signed from Burscough if I remember rightly. Never got to see Bayliss but always had the impression he'd of been a favourite, sounds like he was a proper no nonsense centre half!

Bates was on trial from Leamington, played in Jonah's record breaking game away at Mansfield and wasn't seen again. I included Byrne but forgot about some of the others, Coleman and Kitchen is going back some, they played last game of Parkin's last full season in charge didn't they? Minihan and Lambert down there as biggest disappointments? Was gutted Lambert didn't kick on he looked to have a good career ahead of him. And did Wharton play? I know he bagged 20 in his last YTS season up front with Buckley but don't recall Hill using him in the first team...

Wharton came on as a sub against Accrington and missed a sitter because of the awful muddy conditions If memory serves me right.

Bates played at Mansfield in April 2007, which was the year before Jones' record breaking game there.

Buckley counts because he was signed as a YTS player, just like rhe likes of Townson (Everton), McCourt (Foyle Harps), Joe Thompson (Man Utd) etc.

To be fair Coleman ignored him after that initial good start and brought in two right backs in the summer in Rafferty and Pearson.

That's who I was thinking of. Scored a free kick winner v Halifax to help keep Barrow in a job for a bit longer.

Colchester United Academy products on 13:42 - Apr 6 with 5183 views | fitzochris | A young lad I knew from footy at school managed to get on during our heavy second leg against Blackburn Rovers some years ago - David Walsh. When I say young lad, he was young then. Not a great game to make your debut in, to be fair.
