LFW Pub Guide - Crown and Sceptre Friday, 27th Jun 2008 22:00 by LFW The Crown and Sceptre has long been a favourite pre and post match haunt of QPR fans and gets an excellent review from LFW. Name of pub: Crown and Sceptre Location: Melina Road, W12 Size: Good size but need to be in two hours before kick off to get a table usually. Selection of beers? Fullers and usual various strength lagers. Price of drinks? £3.30 a pint from memory. How full does it get on a matchday? Pretty full but enough staff to be served quickly, and never horrendously full. How fit are the bar staff? Not very fit but very friendly and welcoming. How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? Ten minutes at a brisk pace. Sky Sports/ESPN? Yes - including outdoor screen in the garden. Suitable for away fans? Yes but have recently started making it QPR members and season ticket holders only for big matches. Suitable for families and kids? Definitely. What's the smoking situation? Fine outside obviously in the garden and pavement. Beer garden? Very good patio style garden with TV. As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? Not too bad. Does it serve food and is it any good? Thai food is good, 'English' food is so-so. Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? Traditional. In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub? Excellent atmosphere, family-owned by lovely people respectful of and respected by their punters. Beer kept well. If I liked Thai food enough then I couldn't fault it. - BlackCrowe Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
