Today's South Wales Evening Post is well worth a buy today for anyone who is connected to steelmaking in Port Talbot, there is a 3 page spread.

Educational also, I never realised that ithe area has history with iron/steel dates from as far back as 1253 onwards,

Aye the usual cliché’s, soundbytes and mood music are in full flow in South Wales at the moment.
“Support packages”….”Sustainable energy”….”Retraining”….”A greener and brighter future”….Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. Heard some of the same usual bluff after Bryngwyn Steelworks etc shut.

I watched BBC news reporting last night and that organisation is nowadays well and truly polluted with a WOKE-green agenda, it might as well get Greta Thunberg in to co-present alongside Nick Servini.

I do not normally agree with any Lib Dem, but well known Swansea City councilor Chris Holley hit the nail right on the head by being “once bitten twice shy”.

The inside heading title in today’s SWEP says it all ‘Our old industrial sites are becoming theme parks’.

“Neither the Welsh nor U.K government have an industrial strategy that will bring manufacturing back to Wales. The opportunities I had as a young person setting out into the world are no longer available to those leaving school now.”

And remember folks it’s not only the Tories that have overseen industrial decline in Wales! This has happened under a Labour government in Westminster and a (Bryngwyn Works etc hey!) devolved Labour government in Cardiff. I guess that is why the 'Son of Kinnock' was so on the defensive when interviewed on TV last night?

Tropical Fish
at 11:43 30 Sep 2024

I had an angel fish that laid eggs (stuck to a plant) only for it to then eat its own eggs, the 'Kribs' were different because I never saw a single egg in the tank.

I question whether the mother had laid her eggs in a hollow ornamental castle that I had placed at the tanks bottom.

Once I had seen the Krib babies I then immediately partitioned my tank with the plastic sheeting. I saw approx a dozen-ish swimming about, and I guess there could have been many more, but they had been eaten by other fish before tank partition.

Fish keepers should be mindfull that fish can and do breed in captivity, which was a total shock to me at the time.

Breeding fish can be a danger when in comes to other fish. There is nothing worse than having a protective-muderous Mam and Dad 'Kribensis' couple running amok in a aquarium.

These are very easy fish to breed (talking from experience) but once the young-un's are seen in the tank, it’s a case of separating Mam, Dad and kids from the other fish. The newborn are easily eaten by other fish species in the tank and of course having Mr + Mrs Kribensis on the warpath is no help for aquatic community relations.

I ended separating (with help of fish catching net) the Kribensis clan from the other fish by means of transparent plastic sheeting wrapped around two knitting needles. Apparently a tank where fish end up breeding is a positive sign of having a well conditioned tank and excellent living environment.

IMO there is NO other country in the world when it comes to protecting its own national interests in a way that show’s nothing but 100% fanatical determination to do so. There seems to be nowhere to escape when Israel is on the case.

I could never envisage insane abandonment of border control seen throughout EU, U.K and U.S for example.

I also could never imagine in a million years circumstances where guilty culprits end up escaping punishment/justice for terrorist atrocities in circumstances when those guilty culprits are well known to security services along with their movements and location.

If the Omagh bombing gang had come across a British government that operated to exact Israel’s standards? Then it would have been a case of dozens of hellfire missiles being fired directly at many boderland ranch style houses and farms.

I guess Israel thinks that stuff like the ECHR is a complete and utter joke? I also guess Israel is the last country that would compromise its own national security by means of allowing unscrupulous lawyers and law lords to do so?

Tory leadership
at 14:11 29 Sep 2024

So here we find the Tories coming out with the same old promises, the same time-worn hot air and same future intent that now means ABSOLUTELY nothing, because of what has gone on before,

A case of “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me” but in this instance it was many more times than just being fooled once.

It was election victory, after election victory, after election victory!!!! And to do the complete and utter opposite of what they actually promised!!!!

And thus the trust has been broken, because if they couldn’t fix the English NHS or insane U.K immigration numbers (both illegal and legal) when in power? How come it’s only now that they are champing at the bit to do so? FFS they had from 2010 - 2024!

Ditto that silly woman Kamala Harris who is coming out with dawn of a new era lunacy and time for change baloney. Does she realise what political party has been in government and where the AWOL American border czar has been hiding since 2020?

Service ! Best and worst restaurant you have ever been to ?
at 18:40 25 Sep 2024

The 'Grape And Olive' many years back where I got home and put a pie in the microwave, because the servings were so small, the main serving was tepid and prices extortionate.

The best place(s) for me was the old Berni Inn's where you could order from a menu that offered stuff that you knew you were guarenteed to enjoy i.e. steak and chips, fillet of plaice and chips, deep fried scampi and chips. Ditto starters and desserts.

None of playing a hit or miss gambling game hoping for the best by choosing from a fancy-wancy pretentious menu with mysterious sauces and stuff.

"Baked snow crab, cilantro and avocado lightly kissed and seasoned with chef’s signature sauce". No thanks! Fish and chips, yes please!!!!

Well this lot are on par with the Tories when it comes to intelligence insulting excuses, lack of self awareness and hypocrisy. About as brazen as you can get!

I thought the Tories "It was a works event" was scrapping the barell, enter Starmer and his gang who have not offered anything better, and are just a continuation of what has gone before.

Staggering to contemplate that this is all happening so thick and fast into a new goverments tenure.

"New beginning and dawn of a new era"...... NOT!!!!

EDIT: SKY News now describing the government and events as 'continuity Johnson'.

It does rather appear that "Free Gear Kier" thinks the British public are a load of absolute sausages.

QUOTE: "Naturally, Guido had a peek at the records. The dates of their luxury £20,437.28 stay? From 29th May 2024 to 13th July 2024.

The first GCSE exam was on 9th May 2024, and the final one wrapped up on 19th June 2024. So, not only did Starmer’s son start exams weeks before they checked in, but his last paper was nearly a month before they checked out.

How much “revision” time do you need in a five-star pad post-GCSEs?" END OF QUOTE

The question that now has to be asked was his son ever in the luxury penthouse anyhow? Things do rather look extremely dodgy!!!!!

Aye, a bit like losing a wedding ring whilst fishing off Mumbles Pier, only for it to to reappear in a fishes intestines after gutting it whilst on a Florida Keys fishing holiday.

When I kept tropical fish I used to dechlorinate the water using a treatment I used to buy from a local pet shop. I do not know if this is something applicable in this instance. I used to treat the water after cleaning the tank out and refilling also.

Another thing to be mindful of is having correct temperature setting on the heater by having a water thermometer. Water too cold is a killer!

I think many make an obvious suggestion i.e. the people handing over these large donations and freebies are doing so for their own personal interests, PR and publicity.

Remember 'Swansea City Supporters Trust' raffle prizes? I cannot ever remember Martin Morgan ever offering a prize donation worth £2,000?

If SCFC was to be ever promoted again to the Premier League? My mood would be very subdued especially after reading stuff about Rodder's attitude (and others) and seeing the likes of that parasite who passed to a advertising hoarding, and Franck The Plank who cost £3.5 million without wages. Another surreal CV to add to Pep Clotet's!

Bang on! And many of whom I guess live in a hard graft physically demanding world.

And onto many who do less physical jobs, but are under intolerable stress and suffering from mental exhaustion from working in the NHS, or some understaffed office somewhere when doing the job of three people etc.

And if this guy is stressed about running about too much, he can then run even more to burn off the cortisol hormone that his stress releases.

It would not be surprised if that comes into play as an excuse also, because it certainly ain't condtions like achilles tendonitis or shin splints caused from too much running!

It'll be the cold weather, or maybe the heat next?

It makes me wonder if these sports psychologists are value for money?

Because? The old way of doing things, was to be told (by being shouted at!) that when tired aching limbs and exhaustion were screaming out "Stop!...Stop!...Stop!" it was then the minds job to take over, because the mind is the general and the body the subordinate".
