This 100%.

The Emperor's New Clothes is being staged at QPR.

I'm concerned too, but you can only stress about all of this for so long. Football has changed so much, for the worse, and we are so far away from looking like a professional club and team that I can't find the passion and enthusiasm I used to feel. I wish I felt differently but it's becoming a chore to support QPR.

I watched it recently and thought it was pretty good until the last 20 minutes or so, which were utterly ludicrous. It was a good idea for a movie and pretty well done until it fell apart, almost literally.

There are far too many knee jerk reactions in football now, but there is a growing body of evidence that our summer recruitment has been a disaster for the most part, that our CEO is a misguided control freak and that a manager whom most of us revere is distancing himself from what is going on at the club. I think it's now clear that we need to sack our CEO as he is a liability.

Agreed. Kill List is a great film but Generation Z was a complete mess.

A lot of my favourite films have been listed, including Alien, Halloween, The Shining, American Werewolf, The Thing, Hellraiser, Event Horizon, Saw, The Descent and Get Out. Others good ones are:

The Omen
Damien: Omen II
The Fly
A Quiet Place
Wrong Turn
Hostel

More thriller than horror, I also recommend:

Calibre
A Lonely Place To Die
Dead Calm

On a list of QPR managers since Venables that I dislike, Warnock would probably be in or around the relegation zone.

That said, I hated him before he joined us, so I'm a hypocrite whose loyalty is easily bought.

Paal always looks half asleep and puts me in mind of Dylan from The Magic Roundabout.

I'm emphatically with you on the first point but nearly as emphatically not with you on the second one.

Thankfully, though, this is all academic.

Sack the bloke who plays "Pigbag"

Sack Pigbag!

I'm sure we started using it in 1995 and it's been downhill ever since...

We need to give Morgan a run in the squad, if not necessarily a starting position.

Too many players come and go at QPR, but you could make a case for Morgan being MOM on Saturday just because he wanted the ball and moved it quickly. Last night I thought he faded after his goal, which I'll forgive him, but I think we might have a player here.

Saito

Agree with all the positive posts on here.

Thinking about it, Saito was an improvement on Paal's recent performances and we had JCS back in the middle and Dunne at right back, where he is better suited (to my amazement), and we looked better all round, if still a little open at times.

I also thought Varane made a real difference in the middle (Madsen must never play DCM again) and both he and Saito could prove to be good signings.

On Saturday I was convinced I was watching a bottom 3 side. Last night I felt I was watching a side that could yet make it to its natural habitat of 16th.

Each to their own, but Dembele showed some real class at times on Saturday whereas Smyth didn't, to put it mildly, and never really has. He can be a useful sub at times but I'd never start him myself.

QPR slump to dead last after Pompey implosion – Report
at 11:20 21 Oct 2024

The two main problems:

1. We don't have a midfield. We have missed Colback hugely and we all now realise that we should (and could) have signed Hayden.

2. We don't have enough goals in the team. I think that is what is most likely to relegate us.

There are other problems and Fox was 100% to blame for both goals when he should have put the ball out both times - and what he was doing with the penalty I cannot fathom. However, I can't recall a more lightweight midfield or less clinical attack.

I think we're going down.

Things about Rangers over the ages that make you smile!
at 11:21 15 Oct 2024

During a match in about 1993 we had a couple of early injuries in the first half. Ian Holloway was warming up in front of the Paddock and asked if any of us had brought our boots along.

My happiest memories were standing in the East Paddock watching the great team of the early 90s take apart teams like Spurs, Leeds and Arsenal. The Kenny Sansom thunderbastard against Arsenal and the Simon Barker equaliser against Liverpool were probably the highlights, but the one that makes me smile is Gary Penrice's magnificently violent half volley past Ian Walker a couple of years later.

I think calling them mediocre is being kind to both teams, although we were worse than Derby.

There were problems across the entire team on Saturday, but the stand out one for me was that we simply didn't have a midfield.

Of course, Field and Madsen were in the midfield but not once do I recall us progressing the play through the middle, which is no surprise when Field is ultra defensive/cautious and Madsen is doing his Invisible Man act.

All we ever seem to do is play it across the back, slowly and clumsily, get it wide to players like Saito and Smyth and then hope that something comes off. We don't have any attacking threat or pace through the centre and we are almost as predictable to watch as we are dire. To compound the problems, we don't have a good striker - Frey has done ok but isn't going to get many and Celar may never score, at least while we play like this.

It's going to be a very long season and we can only wish for the speedy return of JCS, Colback, a fully fit Chair and possibly Varane (?).
