Moving back to the original post. Is it a bit naive for Coleman to say that speculation is "unhelpful"?
Speculation and rumour are part and parcel of football. If we go on a winning run, then AC is going to have to get use to the speculation as Luke will be linked with bigger jobs (bigger than West Brom).
I would be amazed if he was sacked anytime soon. Can we really afford to pay off a manager and his backroom staff (again)?
We need to get some wins over the four games otherwise our season could be over by February which won't help season ticket sales next season. And it may put potential transfer targets off.
Should Luke stays he needs a lot of help - PR and with the coaching. A Calderwood type coach to come in and support. I assume Calderwood left Southampton with RM?
The agent may have been pushing for it. Luke may not have. As I said the other day - the agent will be on a significant commission fee if he moves Luke on.
Press conference tomorrow - I expect Luke can claim that it has only been internet/social media rumours and there has been no direct communication with West Brom. And lets focus on the game ahead.
But he does need help with his post match interviews. He should be doing a lot better having managed three league clubs.
I doubt it will get to interview stage. He will just be offered the job and I expect he won't start until Sunday which means he would not be at the stadium on Saturday. This is if he does leave us.
