Getting Edwards in early doors looking as sensible as it was fortuitous. |
| Forum Reply | Dunne off? at 13:48 23 Jan 2025
True. However, if he has indicated that he won't re-sign, then QPR can try and get something from a buying club and let him go now, as opposed to letting the contract run down. Might only be a few hundred thousand, and will depend how desperate the buying club are and us to an extent. Of course, we'll save on wages most notable in that period between the last game of the season and 30 June. However, with Jimmy, if he were to see out his contract and leave at the end of the season, I have no doubt that he'd give it 100% right to the end. |

Says a lot about the management and something about the senior pros at the time that they didn't step in. What's a bigger shame, was that Adel didn't knock seven shades of crap out of Barton. An era in QPR's history that just needs erasing from one's memory. |

Solid points. But we'll never know. I suspect when it's announced that 44 year old Adel Taarabt has left his job with the Casablanca Sports Ministry, we'll still have some asking, 'Could he still do a job for us?' It's like Gavin & Stacey. It's over; we just have have to move on. |

If I were the OP, I'd leave now to avoid disappointment and being late. We'll see him up there and he can give us all the local intel etc. |

Last time I was this high, a pretty lady rolled a trolley down the aisle asking if anyone was interested in buying duty free! Really well done to all. I just hope we don't get too carried away with ourselves and remain realistic as we should be delighted with our progress. |
| Forum Reply | (Feasible) players you most wished had/hadn't played for QPR at 16:14 21 Jan 2025
What a blinding thread!! The Dreamies (should have happened!) 1. Micky Hazard - would have been great in that Venables side. 2. Ray Houghton - was in the f.....g building as well! 3. Mark Hughes - After we sold Les, Hughes for 18 months would have been perfect instead of relying solely on Dichio and Gallen and then bringing in bloody Mark Hateley when they were struggling. If not Hughes, then maybe Brian Deane. The Dreamies (never going to happen) 1. Matt Le Tissier - never a chance of him leaving Saints, but every time he played, was always 2. Gazza - Pre-FA Cup final injury. 3. Steve Nicol - Always thought he was just the most consistently good player and very underrated at Liverpool. The Twunts 1. Barton - A total wrong 'un from start to finish. Embarrassed he played for us! 2. Bosingwa - a pot of rancid monkey gizz! 3. SWP - Utter wastrel. 4. Tony Scully - Another wastrel! A mate of mine met him at something and said what a great player he could be. Scully replied along the lines of 'I'm getting paid X, I don't care!' |

Saw him in 2023. Had him on Spotify for the week before and was really looking forward to it. A more dull and miserable experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. Summed up by a woman I overheard on the way out, 'He could have sang just one of his hits. Just one!' |

| Forum Reply | How do we feel about Marti post Plymouth? at 11:42 19 Jan 2025
Delighted we 'kept Calm and Marti on'. Not sure it was really in doubt, but he can only get stronger as his learning curve increases. However, I do wonder where we'd be if we'd had say, a Charlie Austin (first time) in our ranks at the start of the season. Anyway, good for Marti!!! |

Hopefully they'll actually get to see this one. Spoke to a couple of mates who went; one thought the game had finished 1-1 the other, a 3-1 loss! Safe travels to all. |

I read in a paper here that Mbappe is on just shy of €1m a week at Real! Shudder to think what Ronaldo (slim) is on out in Saudi. |

Funny this comes hours after Haaland's contract extension announced. I'm reliably informed that a swap of Haaland plus cash for Kolli was on, but fell through when Kolli voiced a preference to stay at QPR. Hopefully now he can really push on. |

I was in the US for Barcelona 1992and the coverage of the 100m final - which Linford won - was scandalous. No mention of the other finalists in the hour long build-up and the actual race coverage was solely on their man who finished third, and we never saw Linford and second place Fredericks cross the line. |
