Clubs don't on the whole take risks with players playing so close to the end of a transfer window, if Jimmy is not in the starting line up on Saturday then that may be an indication that he could be on his way. |

I like Lloyd, was impressed with his endeavour when first saw him come on against Spurs in the pre-season friendly. Pace and power, like the way that Cifuentes is using him to stretch defenders in last third of the match. We now have great striking options, for me it's Frey for the first 60 or so minutes to batter defenders, with Kolli and Lloyd to come on and stretch and run at them. Hopefully Lloyd can get a goal or two soon and his confidence will be sky high, we have already seen Kolli do the business and he is showing great promise as well. Always liked Saito he is a very dangerous player and the Hull game perfectly captioned this and what a lovely goal he scored. Onwards and upwards for the Rangers. |

Saw them at Wembley last year, obviously not the same especially vocally as their heyday with Bon and Brian. Still a great show and spectacle as they are the ultimate classic hard rock band and Angus gives it his all. |
| Forum Reply | Ashby injured or hooked? at 11:00 22 Jan 2025
Ashby with really only a handful of games at top level at 23 and costs £3m says a lot about the modern game. Let's go back 40 years to the Venables era and you were an experienced footballer at that age, e.g. Stainrod, Fenwick, Neill, Dawes, Clive Allen, McDonald were top level in their early 20s. With paper thin squads in those days you had to be a very good player to get anywhere near a squad of about 14 or 15 players top, and only 12 players were selected per game. Ashby just looked really poor as he did against Leicester and Madsen a player frightened of his own shadow, if he could find it. |

He has found his feet and fitness so to speak, have been impressed by Andrews in last 2 matches alongside him. |

If you get the chance just have to go for it and try and get a foothold in the Prem, but the odds on staying up for promoted teams are pretty poor and getting poorer as the gap between the haves and have nots continues to widen. You have to admire what teams like Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham and Palace have done to get traction in the top division. |

Top 10 finish would be great with a little outside chance of a top 6 would be superb. Birmingham City fan I know has been telling me for weeks now that he reckons QPR are on the way to the play offs. |

Really like the way Kolli is progressing, think Marti is doing it the right way by having Frey lead the line for the first 60 mins, then bringing Rayan and Alfie on. Also Rayan is getting his finishes away, which really is important for building confidence. All looking up for the Rangers and young Kolli, long may it continue. |

Again for me, man of the match performance at Plymouth. Hopefully the deal will be sorted soon. |

One of those players that you are willing to come good in a QPR shirt, but it just does not happen. Cifuentes gave him a go early in his tenure but he just fell short again, been the story since Warburton signed him. |

Great news, reminds me a bit of Gary Waddock, he was a very good player back in the day. Big things ahead for young Morgan me thinks! |

Be interesting to see if this affects our momentum with two difficult away games to come. What I took away from this game was you can really tell the players that are just not good enough or even committed enough for the rigours of the Championship. I watched Madsen in the pre-match warm up and he did not even look involved in that, very tentative footballer. Ashby such a strange player, can't make him out, looks at half speed most of the time and makes far too many mistakes and caught out big time on Saturday. Felt confident on way up to the game, saw the fog as we entered Leicestershire and thought is this going ahead, got to the ground and thought we are going to be Charity Park Rangers and our little boys won't fancy this, especially with your best competitive players not in that starting 11. You could easily tell the quality of Leicester they take their chances, even if they are given them by our poor decision making. Not duly worried as we are a mid/lower Championship side playing a team at a level higher, albeit struggling to get a foothold back in the Prem again. |

Totally agree, Kolli should have buried that chance at 1-1, felt the game went away from us at 3-1. What was Ashby doing really poor decision making with hand up for that cross, with a penalty that killed the game for us. Difference for me is even though Leicester are a struggling Premier team, when they get their chances they score and can step up, we just don't have that ability and sort of felt conceding that early goal it was going to be a difficult game. Great support from the travelling fans rather let down by the weather and the team performance. We are a mid to lower table Championship team and the performance sort of mirrored this. |

Two tough away games, can't really tell how we will do, have we changed our form to be a much stronger home side and gone all soft away - possibly. If I have to be honest I want us to be a strong home side again and keep momentum going that way. |
| Forum Reply | What's your view of today's F A Cup exit? at 19:48 11 Jan 2025
Generally thought it a strange game, for me what I could see in the fog was Leicester took their chances we didn't and conceding so early was a real downer. Our keeper never really made a save and what was Ashby doing most of the time, especially the penalty give away. Madsen least said the better. We had a good period when we scored but Leicester are just a better team. Left at 75 mins, earliest ever left a Rangers match but to be honest the game was done for me when they got 3-1 ahead. |
| Forum Thread | Frey at 19:15 8 Jan 2025
I like Frey up front, his physicality the sort of style of striker that suits what we need at this level, leading the line, roughing up defenders and getting vital goals. Reminds me of Hugill same sort of player, who I really thought did a great job while on loan to us. We sort of know Frey can't last a full 90 mins but options of Kolli and Lloyd to do last third of the game is a real bonus as well as they are growing in confidence. [Post edited 8 Jan 19:16]
