What is it in us that you can see to defeat Burnley?
Burnley, the team that have broken all sorts of defensive records this season, conceding just 15 goals...against our fearsome strikeforce?
I don't mind losing against Burnley, someone has to stop Leeds winning the league and our season is over. All this talk about finishing the season strongly to carry momentum into next season is nonsense as was shown from last season going into this season.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not but I am going to treat it as not a joke. I am probably the most pessimistic person on the planet but I can see we're virtually safe.
We're 8 points clear of the relegation zone.
For us to finish bottom it would require Cardiff to win 3 of their remaining 4 games and both Luton and Plymouth to win all 4 remaining games. That just isn't going to happen.
The only possible scenario is for us to finish 3rd bottom, which as mentioned would require Cardiff to win 3 of their 4 remaining games.
Cardiff form from last 6 matches...won 1, drew 3, lost 2.
Cardiff are away at 3rd place Sheffield United tomorrow. I mean yeah it's possible for Cardiff to win 3 more games, us to not gain any more points this season and the other 6 teams below win more points than us but there's a reason we've been given less than 0.1% chance of getting relegated.
Just 5 years ago amid financial turmoil in the club the club stayed up by a single point. During the season Villa drew 0-0 in a game they should have lost 1-0 after goal line technology didn't pick up that a ball has crossed the line. Without that point they would have been relegated, they would have probably had a hard time given their financial issues. Instead they stayed up and 4 seasons later they are playing quarter final Champions League football against PSG.
They purchased him less than 12 months ago for over £3 million. Peterborough are likely to have a large sell on clause so the only way for a sale to be financially viable for Southampton is if we put in a bid over £5 million, I suspect Southampton would want more than that to sell to a divisional rival though.
£5 million is about £4 million over our budget, even with the Eze money.
As I mentioned on page 5 of this thread Ethan Galbraith looks like he could fill that criteria. He seems to have good vision and can pass forward. 5 goals and 5 assists from central midfield for Leyton Orient this season. I've only watched the 2 videos I posted there so he could actually be terrible but he looks like he could step up to Championship football.
From his Wiki:
"Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough described Galbraith as the country's version of Spanish international midfielders Xavi and Andrés Iniesta. Neil Wood has described him as technically gifted, and as a player who "can pick a pass and has all the different varieties of delivery"".
I guess the danger for the club now is his contract situation. His contract is up this summer but I guess we probably have a 1 year contract extension option in there.
The way he is playing this season you would expect he will be part of QPR plans for next season. Do QPR gamble and give him a new longer contract or do they risk it and potentially let him leave for free next season.
I think Real Madrid is the only club in the world that you shouldn't be upset about your player leaving to join despite the history that player having at your club.
It's the one club where players are willing to run down their contract for and Madrid know players want to be there so they don't have to pay them huge money to get them to sign.
I'm sorry, I don't really understand your argument.
If my car has failed the MOT so I leave it parked up in the middle of field but someone manages to cross through the field ignoring any warning systems and plough into the side of my car it's not really my fault despite my car failing a safety check.
Obviously I wasn't being 100% serious and following on from the original poster but yeah, it's a bit weird that a ship can hit another ship while the ship is anchored.
The ship that is hit being one carrying fuel for the US military, the ship that caused the accident being captained by a Russian.
I would have thought an accident like this would be virtually impossible given the technology onboard.
Classic QPR, most teams when they get a goal back and there's a chance of a point they put a lot of pressure on to force a goal. Not QPR though. 15 minutes played since the Cook goal and not a single chance created until OUR GOALKEEPER HAS A CHANCE. 🙄
If Russia didn't want to take the whole of Ukraine then why did they initially try to get Kiev before they had to make a hasty retreat? (not before committing many war crimes on the way)
