Most Americans I’ve met in a sports setting know of Wales, on a wider degree I doubt many do. In Spain, in the areas that are not deemed real Spain, tourist Spain, like new Benidorm, Estero an etc and all along that coast Wales is well known through tourism.
I’ve lived here for a lot of years. If I’ve met three people in that time who were born and raised here that know of Wales I would be surprised. The only thing that resonates with them are the names Gareth Bake or Ryan Giggs, that will bring about a distant acknowledgment but they don’t know about the country. Nor really know where it is. |
