| Your Report | Manchester City v Southampton Your Report added at 09:05:18 Diallo und Djenepo even yesterday managed to Look more than useless. Unfortunately JWP and ABK were shown to be more than helpless against such a quality opponent too... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 19:24:34 Gunn shocking for the first goal, JWP continued his poor form. Hardly anyone stood out. RH taking off Ings when we chase that goal makes you wonder, as he for sure is the best bet to score ... Even more so the change of the whole system just because of the injury to Cedric. His decisions seem to become poorer and poorer... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 17:48:50 Well, today we unfortunately got see, what this summer happened - despite it shouldn't have happened. Everyone knew there was one position we needed to get better - and we simply didn't, bar from a "one for the future" loan on deadline day. And that DM spot was the second to improve, cause in romeu and Hojbjerg we've only got two of tjose (not a single defender in the world wants to be shielded by JWP). One was ill and well... I'm a big fan of Hasenhüttl, but there was a lot wrong that last window and today. Nobody here needs djenepo now, let's be honest. It's 12-14 Mio. for someone "nice to have". Let's buy him if you have everything else sorted and got money left to spend. Butto buy him state that from now on you have to sell and getting a CD depends on departures, means there are some people making decisions, who shouldn't make them. And so there obviously was no money left for players we all are crying for since years now. That transfer window was Shit. End of. To talk about today, to play Stephens, just because Yoshida may be off in the next weeks, is Shit decision making. You have to play the best that are available to you at any time. Do the best for the club. Of course nobody will buy Stephens (his contract has to make every proper footballer laugh), but to play him just because of that?? He didn't really make it in L1, even RH, who came here later, should have figured that out by now. If Hojbjerg can sit, then he can play. He's that far above the rest (which tells you something). JWP a captain? If a player like that would ever have captained my team, I would have laughed the whole day and lost 0:3 by purpose. Oh. You need vocal player there. Someone who never gives up. Stephens would have been about 50 times better as captain,as you need someone with an unbelievable fighting spirit or someone who is just gifted. Gunn was not without fault too, he could have done better with the first and the third. McCarthy is still here. It didn't work to get him out. So please play the better goalie, which unfortunately isn't Gunn. But this was the smaller issue today, I think... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 06:31:27 This is where a by some so called "decent start to Season" brings you - after reaching a great 5 Points in 5 games. Without playing one of the top 6. Of Course your average will fall when you Play them. So well, to me it seemed quite simple to understand that you Need more than one Point per game not involving the top 6. Now there's 5 from 8, who would have thought? Not a so decent start? Today we started with three at the back - with Bedfnarek, the only one playing without making a mistake, gets taken off at half time. Yoshida had his usual lapses (not punished, but two horrendous mistakes) and Hoedt... Putting PEH under pressure with the pass was okay for me, a midfielder should be able to cope with that. The real error was him not getting back into his Position but attacking the ball, which wasn't his Job, so Hazard was as free as he ever could be with Hoedt completely out of position. And the third showed that this can't be the partnership for us. But... I fear we still haven't got one on our books. Hughes... The german commentators summed it up this way: "Southampton managed to stay in the league, but not thanks to Hughes or great Performances or making many points, but by Swansea imploding. Hughes managed just over a Point per game and for that Performance he was rewarded with a three years contract. It seems you don't have to do a lot to get such a contract there." |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 17:37:39 At least there were two situations that made me smile. First when I read the Teamsheet with Gabbi, our only goalscorer left, and Sims benched. MP started four attacking Players who combined(!!!!!!) to score 6 Goals in 66 starts (83 appearances) in the PL this season. That's 1 Goal for every 11 starts. Or 1 in 14 appearances. Gabbi on the other Hand managed 1 in 2,5 starts and 1 in 6 appearences, as he had mostly cameos. You would have thought a Manager paid millions could work out that this could make a difference. MP didn't Play Austin for months at the beginning of the season, even when he was not injured, cause "our" manager doesn't know a fcking thing about what is needed to score a Goal. He was forced and Austin saved his Job. But well, in these circumstances, he is not able to learn, as we see week in, week out... So MP made me smile for a second time. He makes a double Substitution, desperately chasing the game and manages to again leave him out and bring on Long. Well, of course Long could have scored his one Goal for 2018 today. But MP got unlucky there... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 00:30:08 Finally MP got a starting lineup right - and look what a difference that makes. I also agreed with the Subs, I maybe would have brought Hojbjerg 6-7 minutes earlier... Lemina was his usual self, played incredibly dominant and assured. Like he did before he was injured and benched for a reason only MP knows. Lemina for sure again proved the manager how wrong it is to not Play him. Though Stephen's Goal was a great Header, our CD obvously still is the main concern. We were crying out loud for a new one, but somehow we weren't even linked with anybody. It's a bit frustrating that it seems the board and/or the Manager don't seem to see this. A good win with some good Goals, but well, it was nervy in the end, Bertrand could have given away a Penalty and we gave them some free kicks from very good positions. In the end it was a much needed win, but no reason to get carried away now - as it was a narrow win against the last-placed Team. It does make a big difference which People MP puts out there. So hopefully he will make less mistakes now - and hopefully he learned that he might read here in the Forum the next time he is clueless again... |

| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:48:19 We don't have to go on about MP any more, he's f*cking useless and hasn't got a clue, and he does prove it every game. Though you would think he gives Reed an easy excuse for firing him, as MP doesn't Play any of Reed's latest heroics. Lemina, Gabbiadini, Boufal, Redmond and Carillo not starting. Forster, one of our most expensive Players who has been given a needless contract Extension in the summer, on the bench. Bednarek not even in contention in a CD, that is Relegation Standard for a year now (unfortunately it seems rightly so). Starting an attacking 4 with JWP, Davis and Long is just ridiculous. Tadic is able to create a lot, but he Needs Players around him who can score. Two situations describe best what the offensive Problems are: Once in the first half Bertrand entered the box with pace, looking up and seeing Davis and JWP Jogging along in the middle not even trying to make a run so he shoots from a very bad angle. Second: Boufal makes a goalbound cross and despite nobody being able to reach that cross initially, noone even follows it. The GK lost control but it didn't matter. Austin would have scored that one, even I would have. This is what a real golascorer, a poacher, has to do. To anticipate what might happen, to get into positions where you might score. It's not really about "standing" in the right place, you firstly have to get there. Sometimes you have to hope for a mistake to happen, but you may never stop going there, just because it seems unlikely. It's the difference between a Forward and a poacher. And it did prove the statistics we all knew before, that Carillo is no replacement for Austin as he was one Standing and watching and just started moving when the GK lost it. You have to move a Long time before that to capitalize.. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 14:37:42 Playin JWP and Davis when there are some better options available proved to be some kind of madness. Lemina, who got used to the Prem within one game, on the bench. Hojbjerg, who played some great Football the last two games, benched too. Gabbiadini, who would be a more attacking Option and would mean we got two Players on the pitch able to score Goals. Hoedt's mistake was immense, but Davis played his part in playing a looped backpass, that wasn't necessary. Again. JWP is a kid playing with adults, who can only compete in a game without duels. So, free kicks and Corners. Apart from that Little criticism, it was an entertaining match with probably a fair outcome. This is not a reason to be entirely happy, but it didn't ruin my day neither. Pellergino could be even more adventorous, let's hope he will somewhen... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:00:40 Finally, MP did what he schould have done two months earlier - to put someone in the box who can get at the end of crosses, when you have a Team that good on the wings... It's no coincidence that Tadic looked a lot better than in most games this season as did Bertrand and Cedric, who all now had someone to aim the crosses to. Would have been even braver to start Gabbiadini as well instead of JWP, but okay... At least we saw what the "forgotten" Players (well, just by MP), are capable of, cause Austin did what everybody hoped he would do, and Hojbjerg was immense... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 14:44:08 Obviously, this was crap. Two very, very poor teams competing and we manage to concede 3 Goals. There is not much to say about the Players, as I can't think of one even playing average, but how you could see Yoshida having "a really good game"??? He started to Counter attacks with poor passing, he lost the Header for the opening Goal (wich VvD of course would have won), and he put the game beyond doubt with the most stupid tackle I can imagine (a very similar tackle to the one, which could have costed us the victory vs. Bournemouth when he luckily got away with it). So he's very much at fault for two of their Goals - I wonder what he had to do to have a bad game... Puel now had enough time to be judged and I can't think of too many good things. Moaning about the fixtures all the time and telling everyone that Players can't Play twice a week - but then he chooses to Play McQueen twice within three days and leaving out Bertrand, who turned the Bournemouth game around on his own. He robbed the captain of his dream of playing in Europe and as a consequence he got us out of the competition. My guess would be that he "has" to Play the Youngsters - to show that the academy still produces. There's no other reason I could think of why Bertrand sat on the bench, why he "rotates" (in fact he plays two different Teams), why the helpless JWP plays that often. Zlatan, 35 years old, somehow manages to Play all those games, as do most of the Man.U. squad, who are 6th and 15 Points ahead (while there are just 12 Points between the bottom of the table and us. The games are so boring to watch, that there never is a chance of us growing a "global brand", cause noone watching this would ever become a new fan. I criticised RK last year for his sometimes very negative tactics, but that has even become worse. So, I can't help but come to the conclusion, that Puel is to blame for a lot of things that go wrong here. Let's hope we somehow Progress in the Cups as the PL-season is virtually over - there's no way that this Team will have to fight Relegation. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 14:42:46 We are so boring to watch this season, that it's hard to keep focused on the match for 90 minutes. A win of course makes that easier to take, but the fun is missing and it is hard to imagine what this will make to the fastest grwoing brand in Football. If it is that boring there can't be many costumers worldwide who would want to follow this. JWP and Rodriguez were again the greatest culprits in showing they are not up to it, but unfortunately the rest was not that much above it. A deflected shot luckily saved us when we again did not look like we could ever score. The defence of course was again solid and even managed to prevent JWPs best try to give them a goal... But well, to change a game we even have our own Thierry Henry to come on, who manages to get a goal or assist every 551 minutes. It may not sound like it, but of course I'm very happy about the three Points - but for sure not with the entertainment... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 09:04:59 Too many changes for me too, when stating we would want to win this competition. And that showed in our quite poor Performance. Some of the Players coming in did okay. Ramirez set the Goal up that Yoshida did very well to finish, but Ramirez did not offer too much apart from that and Maya did get exposed in defense more than once as he simply is no FB. Targett had a good game for me apart from the situation when Stekelenburg had to save Bacuna's shot on the near post. Romeu did quite good and finally managed to not get booked. Caulker has done okay. Juanmi sadly offered nothing at all but just one great tackle. And JWP simply has been shocking... Apart from the goal I personally have not been happy with Pelle trying to backheel and flick every ball which never worked - as if it was a game that didn't matter at all. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 09:18:06 The only thing I'm quite happy with, is that our matches are easy to bet. In the first two PL-games the Formation made it obvious that it would mean some goals and with yesterdays formation meant there hardly could be more than one... Going for clean sheets of course isn't the worst thing, but if you play Watford and put on a 7-1-2 formation than this is somehow worrying if you think in terms of ambition. With a team and tactics like that you can't complain lacking creativity or goals, I doubt that having Messi or Ronaldo alone up front would have managed to change that - so for sure Austin couldn't neither. If you start looking for a point in such a game then you surely accept that avoiding relegation is the only goal. Every made substitution underlined this. Watford looked far more likely to score than us despite this and with the injury of Mane there was noone left but Pelle who you could hope for to score. And when I was hoping for Tadic or Junami to come on and try to make a difference with one of the 7 defensive Players making way, there came JWP for Davis to make the team (and our offense) even weaker... I personally rather watch a 2-2 at Newcastle with a formation that at least shows ambition even though it won't ever keep a clean sheet than being bored to death with this tactical approach at PL-Giants Watford... |

| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 15:38:12 Right Nick - Forster did right in coming out on the through ball, just don't know if he did have the confident shout he should have made. On the other hand Gardos tried to clear it, which is very understandable as the defenders learn how a GK plays and reacts to situations. Forster often stays on his line with crosses and through balls that he may go for, so the defenders learn that they need to deal with these balls as the GK doesn't... Maybe bad luck - but yeah, really good footballers should be aware of what his teammates are doing, even if it might be "unusual"... And yes, it should have been a penalty... |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 10:04:42 Wow, watching that was horrible... In fact Koeman should bring Boruc back. He's a genius making 2 horrendous mistakes a year. Forster's average and makes significantly more of them... Mane - as an Austrian I was just wondering why... Didn't like him at Salzburg (saw at least 15 games featuring him), now I like him even less... Kampl would have been the far better choice to buy, but even there would be some doubt about the physicality... Embarassing... And then we have to substitute him and bring Mayuka who's even worse... I hope noone will ask any more for Gardos to play over Yoshida... Yoshida at least works hard and tries even if he's not getting everything right. Gardos is slow, weak in positioning and unable to properly pass the ball (how could he ever play DM?). Isgrove... Oh my god, he's just not up to it - and you can see he'll never ever be... At 22 he's not a talent any more. He's just way off... JWP - him getting injured months ago was finally nothing too bad for the team - only featuring in the win at West Ham, the Swansea-game was won when he was already off. Way off in a physical way and so he is playing just for dead balls as he has nothing else to offer (as an offensive midfielder in the centre of the park!!!!) . Bertrand is no midfielder. And then there's the question of resting(?? what should he be tired of?) Alderweireld - while playing both DM with 4 yellow cards. Just to get sure that we don't have any chance on saturday. Hopefully Davis will get back - otherwise I guess I'll bet my car (ain't got a house) on Everton to win this... Having said that I have to praise Long - as he worked very hard and went for every header, though he is a very limited player. As for Fonte, he's at least committed... Frustrating night - that showed us that we need Tadic and Pelle - even if they're far from their best... |
