And yet you're quite qualified to declare that there's no good music around these days...
Right.
Yep, the little clue being that the events being discussed in this thread are "old school" events. Or "old skool" not sure which is the correct way to spell it.
Modern music is sh!te, it all died a death, I'm sure the only people that would take issue with that are the people that didnt experience it at its peak, I did & have no interest in going out to any of these places now, it was a period in time, a period in the past that is now dead.
Any one on here use to go to OBJ's in the old Prince of Wales in Dalling rd?
Saw the DJ Tony still playing Vinyl last night 30 plus years on!
Proper old skooool!!!

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.
"Groovy Beat" in particular is a massive underground classic for that whole genre / era.
Swainy played Groovy to me before it came out.I said it was 'sh1t' ,too repetitive.I was very very stoned tho.Like you say ,it was a classic ,guaranteed floor filler. Mad, brilliant times..I know what them old hippies mean when they say 'If you remember the 60's you wernt there'.
edit. In my defense like I was very stoned and was more interested in not missing my go on Sonic the Hedgehog than listening to one of Kev's tracks.I definately didnt think I'd be describing it as a classic 20 odd years later.Much respect Kevin wherever you are..
This is a festival i played at in the summer in Portugal. I must stress that i am not a hippie or a traveller and i don't play music over 130bpm. it got raided whilst I was playing .....that was a bit odd, carried on and turned it up.
110 degrees as well ...........nearly got a tan.
This looks like some peoples nightmares I should imagine.
Nice One ! The Portugese have some great festivals. I've been to Freedom and Boom and had a brilliant time.
These 3 remind me of when it all started and Centerforce (AS and the boys):
Fingers Inc - Got the white lable with the Speech but couldn't find it on You Tube
Went to Hacienda revival night in Chester couple of weeks ago, Peter Hook DJing and Graeme Park, superb old tunes and brought back some great memories of the rave era. Fair few rave revival nights up north, best one Quadrant Park revival nights, superb tunes from DJs of that era.
So many tunes but favourite NJoi live in Manchester EP parts 1 and 2, try listen to these and not start throwing your hands up in the air.
Also loved the Italian house scene F.P.I Project `everybody' The Redmen `youre my way' A.S.H.A. `J.J Tribute'

Did you go to any of the old Full Circle parties out near Heathrow somewhere in a pub on Sundays ?
And reminds me, I went to a wedding between two gentlemen that my wife works with last month down in Kent, after about 30 mins of the DJ being on, I turned to her and said 'this guy is pretty good isn't he'
Walked over to have a look and it was Graeme Park! Cue three hours of proper classics. So if you've got the money you can have a rave legend at your nuptials these days...
I'm pretty sure it was in Southall or out that way.
Yeah might of been The Rose (or something like that ) in Southall. It used to be a cinema showing Indian films (surprise surprise Southall an all that!) then changed to a club for a while catering for the degenerates of Hounslow who couldnt get in any where else.
