Beware the pitfalls of a Redknapp coronation 19:52 - Nov 23 with 2450 viewsNorthernr

As Mark Hughes moves out of Loftus Road, Harry Redknapp seems set to move straight in. Are QPR simply repeating the same mistakes all over again?

Yes I tried to be optimistic about Hughes, ended up looking a tit, hence caution.

Yes I remember that Norf. Never liked Hughes as an appointment, arrogant and aloof. Not at all convinced by rednapp, as I'm not sure this position is saveable, as I said on Talksport earlier, I think god as a manager would struggle t keep us up, although Harry's got as good a chance as any.

I would have loved Martinez, but lets get bhind Harry, as we are in a disparate mess.

Great article Clive, and I think you've also expressed the way a lot of feel with your comment below the article:

"Weirdly, I don't think Redknapp is a bad appointment. I think he'll keep us up, the football will be great, QPR might actually be fun to watch. It's just the method of it, and the long term planning."

And this thread in a nutshell sums up how far our expectations have come. 4 years ago could we have entertained getting Rednapp (for all his plusses and minuses) coming to W12. Yes, we're in the sh*t but FFS we've always been rose-tinted enough to back the new manager, whoever he is, whatever division we're in, and so it must be now. Support your team Rs supporters in the new era.

Who the hell can successfully plan for the long term anyway? The future never comes,it is always just out of reach. The present is paramount.

Poll: So how was the season for you?

I always have caution as a QPR supporter, but will support whoever is in charge, MH just ran out of Ideas and got totally found out, our saving grace is the fact everyone realises this and I don't think he will ever get a job in the PL again.

Harry is different and a great short term option, as long as the contract is a sensible one, our club is crying out for a long term plan, we are not going to win anything in the PL or cups any time soon so now is a chance to lay some serious foundations.

Id love to see Ole Gunnar Solskjær given a chance, or someone of his mould, and bring in good hungry home grown talent from our youth set up or scouting Europe's unknowns and unearthing gems in the process.

Even if we don't win anything any time soon I wouldn't care, Id just love to see QPR being run in the right way, that's all I ever want for this club.... We must look to the future for the health of this sport & our club....

Completely agree . Will give my 100% backing to anyone managing us but not sure Arry is the man to take us forward .

Imo we need to A: get rid of primadonnas looking for a final paypacket B: get some young talent with something to prove & C: get someone like Solskjær / Martin Allen / Karl Robinson in & have a proper 4 year plan........Happy days

Can I just add too that, NorthernR, there are still some of us
that still like a well written 3,000 word piece. Yes, 30 words is a great
exec summary but we like to drill down, particularly when it is written
with your obvious skill and passion and opinion represented as such,

Keep up the great work!

P.s not convinced on Arry either

3-0 Utd.

I think the players will put in a better performance, new manager watching etc, but we are pretty weak up front so no goals from us but I don't think it will the total hammering people seem to think we will get.

may change to 4-0 but can't see it being anything more than that, Goal Difference will be key again this season, we need to not ship many in if we can help it.

What you going for fella?

To be honest its been pretty easy predicting QPR will loose every game, now a change has happened behind the scenes, you can now watch me plummet down the prediction league!
