some of the "last paycheck" players have actually been very good: Currie and Wilkins both getting (very) honorable mentions.

You could argue that Cerny does his job as a solid back up very well - yet he certainly just signed his last playing contract, unless he goes back to Czeck, but that wont be for the pay!
