Taiwo from AC Milan: Coming on loan (confirmed) 18:29 - Jan 19 with 7799 viewsQPR_ARG

It says so here on Gazzetta dello Sport

http://www.gazzetta.it/Calciomercato/19-01-2012/inter-lucas-contatto-motta-tenta

"17.35 – Mercato Milan in uscita. Il manager dell'ormai ex difensore rossonero Taiwo è in queste ore nella sede del Qpr per firmare il contratto con il club inglese. Il Milan lo gira in prestito."

Which means that at "17:35 Taiwo's agent was at Loftus Road to sign a contract with QPR. Milan are sending him there on loan."

If you do this to someone like Robben, I immediately like you a bit, but...is he any good? Thoughts?

He's in London. Will he play on Saturday?

A player that's as reliable as a South Korean car?

That'll be the Taiwoo.

Never knowingly right.

love this

Saturday 23 April 2011, Taiwo scored the only goal at the Stade de France against Montpellier HSC to win the 2011 Coupe de la Ligue.[2] After the match, Taiwo grabbed a microphone and joined fans in singing an expletive-laden chant aimed at the club's rivals PSG, narrowly escaping a ban from the LFP.

hope he knows a good song for when we beat chelsea!

Just seen a compilation of his some is goals on YouTube he's got a left foot like a bloody missile , great signing

He's very good, a step up from Hill and Traore.

No problem getting a WP, but it probably won't be rubberstamped until next week.

Bit of a shocker for Traore. Day after you fly of to Equatorial Guinea, the boss gets sacked, then the new boss buys a player for your position.
I wonder if Hughes has Skyped him to tell him?

Surely he has already got a work permit playing for an Italian club?

The UK isn't part of the Schengen Area, so an Italian or French work permit is no good. Nigeria is also classed as a high risk country which can delay things.

Either a winner or one of these free kicks hits Terry flat in the face knocking him out cold and making him look even more like a flu germ thats been in a last germ standing bareknuckle brawl and lost, badly.

Someone else can score the winner in that scenario.

Well can see more arguments over who will take penalties, now.... if only tarbs was on better form and Ali had not been injured and no ANC, then this would be looking like a great second half to the season.

Really excited at this prospect.

I'm scratching my head a bit with this one.

I think Traore has done an exceptional job this season and for me has been our most consistent player. Young for me has also been good, but has made more defensive errors - or just ben plain beaten with decent trickery - which have led directly to goals against us.

None-the-less the perception remains Traore is dodgy defensively while good ging forward and though every full back will be beaten every now and again I think he has done pretty well all season and can't think of too many games he has been any worse than the rest of our defense - going forward he has often offered more threat than anyone else in the team.

The consenses is he will move in to left mid, but his bursting runs have typically come when he has overlapped and already has momentum then runs on to a return ball. Moving him to left mid is asking him to play/pick up the ball in a stationary position and I am sceptical he will flourish.

I am all for bringing Taiwo in regaless if he is better than Traore, but for me the question is arond what if any impact this has on Hughes budget. There are so many areas we must strengthen in I just hope this signing doesn't prevent us from making another.

V half empty way of looking at it I suppose, just love to see us bidding for a creative midfielder/striker (and who's to say we aren't behind closed doors to be fair) for me without either we will struggle to stay up- obv we are doing well to sure up the back in general with bids for Alex etc.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

Now I'm not for one minute that this deal is not going to happen, and I think it will be a fantastic signing if it does, but am I the only one that is a little perplexed at why it hasn't actually been confirmed yet? I've had a look on the official page and on the BBC and as yet nothing concrete.

After seeing the photo with MH I'm 99% sure he is going to sign, just thought I'd throw it into the mix.

from what I've seen of him Traore would be better off focusing on being a left winger, play taiwo behind him at left back and you have T'nT

It's a loan isn't it so I doubt the impact on the budget will be huge. Also I really think he is in to cover the African Nations absence of Traore - I don't think Hughes is worrying about how Armand will get back in at this point he just wants to get a team together asap!

Perhaps its time to test Traore left wing full time. As many thing on here think he is defensively weak more him to midfield and he can make them runs. Reminds me of another guy who used to be LB and made a successful conversion, Gareth Bale :P

Agree with the Bale comparison (not saying he is in Bale's class obv). Traore could be converted and give us genuine pace on the left, leaving SWP on the right and Mackie as an impact sub.

Somebody made the point that Traore likes to come from deep and pick up the ball on the overlap when he is already running at pace - but with the right service in a 4-4-2 he shouldn't be picking up the ball while stationary anyway.

Plus Traore is quite good at retaining and recycling possession in tight spots which would be useful if we are being heavily pressed. And he can actually cross!
