It's becoming depressingly predictable, Martin just doesn't have a fu king clue. Please get rid now, we may well be going down again, but let's at least have a change from this utterly arrogant idiot who continues to take the piss out of Saints season ticket holders/ticket buyers and the club itself.

Yes, and that was the only shot from Saints, on target or not. Pathetic.

But not a single shot on target. Even the ones off target weren't even close. Shambles of a performance. How do we expect any of the forwards to score if Martin insists on the team pissing around with it on the flanks. Archer and the tall Paul had no service at all. Still not sure what position Stephens was playing ? He played crap, but his name is probably already on the team sheet for next week.

Totally agree but what do we expect. We’ve bought one decent striker since Pelle left and he was injury prone and decided he’d sooner sit on Villas bench The disallowed goal changed the game

Man City had 73 % possession vs Sporting and lost 4-1. As English teams have found in Europe this year, possession football is for losers. Modern football is all about pouncing on mistakes, intercepting passes and scoring from fast counter-attacks. The team in posssession are the prey. We are playing an out-of-date style of football, which has been well and truly found out. It's literally pointless continuing with it. [Post edited 9 Nov 17:23]

I saw it a few times, it did look like Fernandes "may" have gone into the back of their player, but I say may as it wasn't really clear and certainly wasn't a clear and obvious error for VAR to intervene.

RM post match comments will be that he's delighted & very proud of his players. How has this guy kept his job so long, if he's not gone before our next league match then he's never going to go.. There is a limit to what us supporters should have to tolerate. I know some will say he got us up so deserves a chance, he's now had enough time & opportunities to prove that he can cut it in Premier Lge & he can't. I'll go as far as saying he's the worst Manager we've had in Premier lge & we've had a few bad ones.

He's kept his job until now because he was Ankersen's choice and Ankersen doesn't like to admit that he makes mistakes. Dragan Šolak is not happy with Martin and after today's result he may finally overrule Ankersen and sack him, even though, until now he has always let Ankersen make the football decisions. https://www.givemesport.com/southampton-decision-makers-disagree-on-russell-mart [Post edited 9 Nov 17:33]

FFP is a consideration. Paying off all of Martin's contract now plus the cost of hiring a new manager could take us over the FFP limit for this year.

WOLVES MATCHDAY THREAD : Sponsored by The Cult of Ralph. on 17:34 - Nov 9 with 908 views | JoeEgg | Look at the fuss RM made of our "Arma" when he scored against Everton! All these stupid nicknames and cries that this player and that player was "brilliant". Today VAR will be blamed for the defeat and the main reason we had no other shots on target! Of course that didn't help but nor will trying to play possession football starving what forwards we do have with a proper and quick service. Thank you Russel, but no thank you. Step forward Mr Potter - PLEASE!!!!

Everton and Forest broke the rules and got punished. They will be in The Premier League next season. We won’t.

If that is the case just get shot of him & let Adam Lallana Manage / Coach. He wasn't brought here just as a player, at least he understands what is required in this lge, RM obviously doesn't. BUT I don't envy anybody having to try & get results with the squad we've got. [Post edited 9 Nov 17:45]

This stuff about FFP limiting what we do with RM is nonsense. Why would we pay off his contract? We wouldn't. We would keep him on the payroll and let him stay at home. It's called gardening leave. Next summer when he finds a Championship club to manage we mutually agree to terminate his contract. He could insist on sitting at home and being paid for 3 years for doing nothing, but he wouldn't want to do that because he'd be the forgotten man by the time it ended. Even if he did insist, we wouldn't be paying his contract in one go. Get rid of the f*cker now.

Sack Ankersen as well, he's a bigger pri@k than Martin. I see SR, and Ankersen in particular, as a cancer that is just slowly eating our Club away from the inside. Solak needs to find himself a reliable lieutenant with a decent knowledge of football, bin Ankersen & Martin and get the club back on its feet and heading in the right direction ASAP.
WOLVES MATCHDAY THREAD : Sponsored by The Cult of Ralph. on 18:14 - Nov 9 with 685 views | Bridders2 | That game sums up RM's season so far absolutely pathetic, stop - start - slow down - backwards - stop - sideways - backwards - lose. He'll never look at a fast attacking strategy and that was evident after game 3. Going into the Championship is highly risky, when we'll lose Dibling, Ramsdale, Fernández and KWP and replace them with more dross. Dragon must be furious that he spent £100m to no effect.
