I've had a weird feeling, based on no evidence or logic, that Dunne should be used as an emergency centre-forward when we're desperately chasing the game late on and launching balls forward.

It's like an earworm, that won't go away.

Can sensible people please disavow me of this notion.

Do we assume that no 'sensible' people are looking in at the moment, Sonic?

Channeling your inner Stuart Pearce with this one

Fck it, chuck Matteo Salamon up front, he'll get his nut on the end of something!!

The modern footballer darlings will not like it

We used to do this with Darren Peacock in the prem, and it worked!

So, if we are chasing the game, the idea is sane, in my opinion.

zzzzzzzzzz

Less effective with Georges Santos and Arthur Gnohere though...

So are you Ian Holloway's cousin or are you married to Ian Holloway's cousin or more than likely your status qualifies in both of the aforementioned !!

Was at a home game when we were on a six game losing streak, one of many in recent seasons, and Holloway decided in his wisdom to put Joel Lynch up front !!!

Joel didn't score !!!!!

Well Seny Dieng has a brilliant shots to goals ratio though tbf.....

I honestly believe that Jimmy Dunne could play CF and goalkeeper all at the same time.

Big goal kicks into the stratosphere, follow it up the field, chest down and volleying his own clearance into the top corner.

It would essentially enable us to play a 4-5-2 formation when pushing forward and overwhelm the opposition. I’ll be surprised if Marti isn’t already working on this.

I'm sure it's down to desperation and the futile hope we might uncover a Paul Warhurst.

Paul Warhurst - that's a name not heard for a while.

Was what you call an extremely tidy player.

Yes remember he wasn't originally a goal scorer.

Think Cifuentes tried a few players in different positions against Reading - not too many green shoots rising from that one , was there ??

Big Dan didn't need to play up front, he'd just thunderfùcker efforts against the bar from somewhere near Batman Close.

I uttered the absolute nonsense under Ainsworth last season, that he should deploy Andre Dozzell as an old skool sweeper... I still maintain it would've worked and would probably be lining up in a Bayern Munich shirt this season.... or, I'd drunk far too much and he'd now be available on a free transfer to a league one/ two club of his choice

You're basically calling for the halcyon days of 'rush-goalie' and the reintroduction of the one and only true and proper football, the 'Wembley'.

And they call Pep a genius!!
