B Team v Hull (Recast) on 10:01 - Apr 26 by hook_hoops | Agreed. I was at the match yesterday and was very disappointed with the style of play. If that was a vision of the future I am very concerned. |
Why can't we play a happy medium , we either over play like in the past or lump it like we are doing now. Surely we can combine the 2 together.

I wonder if we'll see fewer youngsters in the squad next season now it's a B team in order to allow more room for fringe first team squad players to play.

19 released seems quite, or is this pretty normal compared to previous years?

Few real surprises. Maybe de Silva, who seemed to have a decen loan at Torquay. I'm far from convinced that some of the B team retained, are never going to be good enough. However, given our financial situation, releasing so many makes sense.

And so it begins... Clearly we're going to need a tighter, more affordable and most importantly, much fitter first team squad for next season.

It takes time to develop a style, especially a mx of styles. I think we are seeing the early stages of this mix in the first team. It looks more boot it long than it perhaps really is, as we have grown accustomed to seeing us trying to play out from the back in nearly all instances.

'far from convinced that some of the B team retained, are never going to be good enough' It's pretty obvious that most of them won't be first team regulars or even squad members. However, are they good enough to play in a B team that is competitive and allows the ones that have real potential to carry on their development? That is the standard we need at all levels below the first team.
