He's not bringing in a specialist coach! He's bringing in a coach to replace one that he's lost - it's just that the coaches responsibilities will be to do extra work on a dedicated area as part of their role - in this case set pieces. This includes coaches that were already here.

Exactly.

Out set pieces are terrible, even the pens.
We need a specialist coach for this.

Now you’ve opened up a can of worms, I think our kick-offs would benefit from better coaching as well.

Well now you've taken away a stick we can beat the club with and where's the fun in that?

Okay so that’s one of the Bromley Fustal 3 accounted for. What about the other 2? I’m predicting this to be tomorrow’s big news.

Beale appoints new Goal-Celebration Coach

When the R’s chief opened his first coaching school twenty years ago, setting up a futsal club in a church hall in Bromley, three children turned up to the first session — and one of them was 12-year-old Terry Frunche.

“I got the wrong day” says Terry, “I thought it was a half-term circus skills workshop for the under 14s”

“But Mick didn’t mind and asked me to stay. He was very encouraging. I remember when he said I’d be allowed to leave after an hour. That sort of broke the ice.”

“I’d brought along a bright yellow bucket and he asked me what was in it. So I said water and chucked it over him. He flinched but of course it was only glitter. He looked a bit angry at first but then said under his breath ‘Genius’ and wrote a load of notes in a notepad”

“5 years later out of the blue I got a call from Brazil. It was Mick. I need a goal-celebration coach he said. A what? I said. A goal celebration coach he repeated. It’s 2 grand a week and an apartment in Sao Paolo. A goal celebration coach yeah I can do that I said. And I haven’t looked back”

“I can’t wait for the season to start. Crystal Pal … sorry Queens Park Rangers are a massive club and this is a special place. I’ve yet to meet all the lads and there’s a few things I’ll need to implement and fine-tune but at least we’ve got a bit time on our hands. We’re expecting to celebrate the first goal sometime around October”

Well I did say 'probably in the minority..' Like most things we will have to wait and see. For me it's gratuitous, but hope I'm wrong. Just that on the one hand Beale is saying the playing squad needs trimming and on the other, he is is bringing in yet another 'specialist' coach. We'll soon need to hire another coach just to transport all the ...err coaches

I think this is two completely different things.

Having too large a playing squad risks two problems for the likes of QPR. Firstly, they will risk problems because they can't all play every week. Warbs was quite particular about this too, squad size has an impact on squad happiness. Secondly, players salaries have an impact on FFP or sustainability or whatever it is called now.

Coaching doesn't come into account for FFP. We can have as many coaches as the owners want to pay for.

If you look back, that's why Dodgy Derby had Rooney as a player-coach, an attempt to bypass FFP by having the football club pay him £5k a week for playing and the gambling company paying him £200k a week to "coach".
