Hi Brian voted for Clement. Disappointed that you didn't include one Harold Redknapp formerly of this parish, still feel he could do a decent job for us.
I don't want anyone now. I want a temporary manager until the end of the season. The last 12 (soon to be 13) managers have all been appointed outside of the preferable May/June/July period when more managers are available. I don't think that Ramsey's position ever went to open tender.
The last manager to be appointed in May or June was Jim Magilton (2009)
Before that it was Dowie in 1998 and before that Gerry in 1991. Before then I would say that the majority of our managers were appointed in May/June/July. This to me is a major problem, particularly with the transfer window system in operation. A club like West Ham is an example of how to do it. They tend to do their dirty washing at the end of a season and recruit when more managers are available and the transfer window is open.
Ok, with the best will in the world you are going to end up sacking managers when it doesn't suit you, but I doubt that it ever occurs to our board that we need to give ourselves the best possible chance to make the best choice.

I'm lost at people saying things like Ollie though. Man's done as any kind of manager whatsoever, he last two jobs broke him. I care about the club, but doesn't mean I would be a good candidate (I'd be booed inside of a fortnight as my 321211 formation struggles to catch on)

Would quite like to see Bircham back at the club as a manager one day, think he's got something about him, my guess would be he'll make a quality man-manager and create a strong team spirit. Possibly a great right hand man with a sterner No.1.
Just checked and seems to be assistant coach in the States, so obv still in the game.
Not suggesting for now obviously but one for the future.

Any love at all for Mick McCarthy? Maybe it's the plastic in me, but I've got a soft spot for him. No nonsense, but not a psycho, couple of promotions under his belt, generally done well at Ipswich on pennies. A bit like a Neil Warnock with 15 years of his career left. No? Ok Paul Clement or whatever.

Any love at all for Mick McCarthy? Maybe it's the plastic in me, but I've got a soft spot for him. If you a specialist for building a good team on a budget in the Championship then Mccarthy is your man but too many fans would moan about this.

I don't think we could ask for much more in terms of "getting our Rangers back". - Seems a strong character, and has worked at big clubs. This could be important in terms of what Dave Mc has called "managing up" i.e. handling the people above him at the club. - He's got great coaching experience, which is important if we are to nurture young players like Shodipo coming though.
My concern is that the "Dream Manager"(TM) tag will quickly become a stick to beat him with, especially if he does play a cautious style of football and we have a run of bad results. I can already see the forum posts to be honest.

I voted for Clement, because:
- QPR ties: we'd have Les and a Clement heading up the football side of things whilst we try to rebuild the club by bringing in young hungry players. Let's face it... We're not going to catch Newcastle. Ollie's had a tough time, but he's another QPR patriot who can inspire. Can't see us going down if Ollie were offered the job till end of season. With performance based option.
