Is he saying that he's never met Bob who was No.2 at a club he owned?

That is apparent, yes. Unless he was number two when they didn't own it.

Marcelinos English isn't very good that's why.

Yeah, but when they said "the next level", we all thought that they meant the next level up. We obviously got that wrong.

Jason Levein and Jim White. on 12:27 - Oct 5 with 1432 views | Highjack | If they interviewed Bob on Friday I wonder what their feelings were when we went 1:0 up on the Saturday? Would have been harder to justify sacking FG if we had beat Liverpool. Bet they were cheering as loudly as any scouser when milners penalty went in. That's where we are at folks. Owners hoping we lose.

He was assistant there for the 96-97 season, did these idiots own it then?

Well Marcelino wasn't considered because of his poor English, yet Huw employed Guidolin whose English was poor when he arrived ! As I said before Levien is a typical corporate American businessman, these people have zero imagination and only go for the safe option or what they are most familiar with, he admitted that he had heard of Bradley by his reputation,so those options are checked off the list. I have nothing against Bradley and I hope he gets us flying again, in a way this reminds me a bit when Rodgers was appointed everybody was asking 'Brendan who's?' and everybody knows what happend there. I am still underwhelmed by Bradley's appointment, but I hope he proves me wrong and he turns out to be as good as he claims he is. [Post edited 5 Oct 2016 12:51]

Jason Levein and Jim White. on 10:45 - Oct 5 by Landore_Jack | “The reason we appointed Bob is not because he's American but because we believe he's the best man for the job,” he said in an EXCLUSIVE interview with talkSPORT’s Jim White. "Neither Steve nor I had met Bob before we interviewed him last Friday but we did know him by reputation - and he lived up to that high reputation. "He is a top class leader, tactically very smart and has the strength of character we believe will make an immediate impact in the dressing room and on the training ground. "Anybody who knows Bob knows he would only take a job if believed he was getting it on merit, not because we simply wanted another American at the club. "We just want the fans to give him a chance and judge him on the job he does, not his accent or passport." http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-its-not-because-hes-american-its-because [Post edited 5 Oct 2016 10:46]

"Neither Steve nor I had met Bob before ... Friday". " Anyone who knows Bob knows he would only take a job if he believed he was getting it on merit". That's an interesting pair of contradictory statements. You either know him, in which case the first statement is a lie, or you don't, in which case the second statement is utter nonsense.
