The Reality of JFH 23:21 - Sep 13 with 6597 views | DWQPR | Is that he is starting to show that he is completely out of his depth. Tonight was nothing short of a total disgrace. Forget about Newcastle being able to spend £50million this summer and have Rafa Benetiz as manager, I have seen many a non-league side play against PL sides and give a decent account of themselves and walk off the pitch with their heads held high, whatever the score. Tonight, literally from the fifth minute onwards when we were lucky to get away with the disallowed goal we were a shambles, five defenders on the pitch didn't know who to pick up, two defensive midfielders playing so deep that Shelvey had all of west London to play in, and Yeni, Chery and Washington totally cut adrift. And let's be honest, 6-0 flattered Rangers. This could have been well into double figures had it not been for some poor finishing, some great saves from Smithies and the woodwork. Yes Newcastle are a good side, but they are a team in our league, playing at our ground against a QPR side that Hasselbaink evidently has turned into a 'pressing team'. Quite frankly his management is woeful and this season will quickly develop into a relegation battle. Before tonight we had played the bottom three at home. Beat Leeds comfortably, lost to Preston, comfortably and didn't even have a shot until the 58th minute, looked knackered and totally bereft of ideas, playing a defensive central midfielder on the right wing, and on Saturday against rock bottom Blackburn, and forget about Hasselbaink saying that their keeper made some great saves, he doesn't mention that Bidwell made two unbelievable goal line clearances, we could have easily lost by two or three, and nobody would have denied that Blackburn would have deserved it. But tonight was pitiful. A team not built on a pressing game but instead the negativity of a poor manager who hasn't got a clue on how to set up a team. A type of player that we missed tonight was someone who could put his foot on the ball and pick a pass, someone like Alé Faurlin, yet he gets rid of him and retains Karl Henry who if he went any further back with his passing he would be serving the beers in the Loft. I do believe that we have the makings of a decent team, but to make a decent team we need a decent manager. Look back to Gigi Di Canio, look how he got Rangers players, with lesser players than we have now, we played some outstanding football under him, yes we let in some goals too, but he dragged us off the bottom of the league to finish mid-table and he knew how to get the midfield moving forward and creating and scoring. Neil Warnock recognised the players we needed, the likes of Hill and Derry, who we all groaned about, but provided the experience and pragmatism to the flamboyancy ahead of them, they both knew how to manage and set a team up. The last time I saw Rangers get beaten at home was against Arsenal in the Cup in 2001. That Arsenal team contained the likes of Vierra and Henry and we included the likes of Lee Harper in goal and George Kulscar. Losing against that Arsenal side wasn't a disgrace given the state the club was in at the time, and the fact that Arsenal were at the zenith of their powers. Tonight is nothing like then, tonight was a disgrace and Hasselbaink for all his dull, boring, negative tactics should now go. Thank fûck that he is only on a rolling one year contract. Now get Warnock back for the rest of the season, he can still do it. Just ask any Rotherham fan.

No. I just don't know where this Three Amigos angle has come from. It's insulting to Ferdinand that he only hires mates. As far as we know he wasn't friends with JFH before interviewing him.

The Reality of JFH on 10:28 - Sep 14 by johnhoop | It may be just one game out of 46 Essex but it was one game that according to Clive was the heaviest home defeat in the whole of the history of the club. To be there as a QPR fan last night was mind-numbing,dispiriting and embarrassing. I still don't have any time for the morons who boo their own team and at one point last night rather took my life In my hands somewhat when I turned round to a cretin behind me who was attempting to start the "We're fckuing sh-t" chant and told him to shut up. Newcastle gave probably the best performance I've seen at LR from any Championship team ever. I reckon they are a far better team than their last promotion side that went up with 100 points. I thought we'd probably get a hammering before the game but was still taken aback by the degree of the humiliation. It isn't last night's result that's going to sink us though. It's getting one point from 6 out of two home games against the bottom 2 in the table that's going to cost us in the long run We're in free fall now and I am really hoping for some evidence that JFH knows what the hell he is doing and is capable of turning things round before we sink much deeper. |
My point is that Newcastle only got 3 points , we suffered some goal difference but we got the same no of points than if we had lost to a injury time goal . We have plenty of time to put things right , last night we had our first choice striker out , a young bloke who just lost his dad, an early injury to a plan obviously to stop Ritchie replaced by a bloke on debut who hasnt played for a bit , A centre half just back from injury . We lost a goal to a massive deflection , then a second through the channel left by the injury to Perch . After starting the 2nd half quite brightly we conceded a worldy . Of course then we collapsed and against a team with Newcastle personnel it could have been a cricket score . Its embarrassing , it hurts , but its September its fixable .

I'd say they have been insulting fans since they came here with absolute crap management and performances on and of the field. We have only gone backwards under the 3 of them LF only gets away with it as he was a "hero" CR and JFH have been nothing less than dreadful. All 3 need to go.

I agree Ramsey didn't work out at all as a manager, though he could be great at his present job for all I know. JFH had me very hopeful. I'm getting worried at the moment definitely. I hope he turns it around. He came here with a good pedigree so I hope it works out. if not we'll move on. I think Ferdinand is doing a good job, and not just because he was a player I liked (I loved Wilkins but thought he was a dreadful manager). I'm very pleased with Ferdinand.

As a director of football interviewing candidates i'd certainly hope he knows him and his approach. As well as at that of at least 60 others in the football league. Not sure that's evidence of nepotism, as far as I'm aware they don't have any prior professional or personal association. Could be wrong about that of course
The Reality of JFH on 13:24 - Sep 14 with 1067 views | DannytheR | Fernandes was meant to be a personal friend of Mark Hughes before hiring him as manager. Strangely, I don't remember that (actual) friendship being talked about nearly so much.
The Reality of JFH on 13:27 - Sep 14 with 1051 views | TGRRRSSS | I am starting to get very concerned, losing is one thing, but there are massive warning signs we could be in big trouble and will not score enough goals as we're set up too defensively, which is a concern because the defence seems a bit nervous and will be more so after this. IN a strange way what happened at the weekend was a far bigger echo of trouble than last night, that was icing on the cake. However I feel at this level to lose 6-0 and add several results already this season I'd say there are to say the least cracks in the systems. I want whoever is QPR manager to do well and generally I am patient but I believe that we are not doing things in a way that will improve us, if anything we're going backwards. Forget LH and CR and LF for now this is about the guys on the training pitch making selections, subs etc. In Anttis comments h makes a worrying point that JFH didn't attempt to change things when it was going wrong, someone on here suggests JFH doesn't like making subs and this too is worrying, and yes we do lack some depth but I think it's more glaring than that, we're also lacking leadership when the sht hits the fan.

we all wanted JFH to do well but I'm afraid that based upon his 9 months at the club then it's just not going to happen. been given money to spend that some other championship managers would only dream of. I wouldn't be surprised if Les is already sounding out Chris Powell at Derby who I'm sure would do a better job than JFH. newcastle had 29 shots on goal. thank god they rested Gayle. probably worse is no yellow cards for QPR players in a 6-0 thrashing. that is seriously not right.

You'd have a point if Ferdinand had made some comment like Briatore about £20 supporters not being entitled to a say. He hasn't - he's always talked about the fans with respect, and he's always seemed happy to talk openly to the fans about what he's trying to do. But something about his presence (or his status) at the club seems to really put some people's backs up. Warnock was a jobbing professional manager who came here as his umpteenth club and did well for a season. Ferdinand comes from west London, learned his football here, played for us for years and years, then came back in a different role to at least try and put the club back on an even keel. But which one of them gets talked about like a hero, and which one gets the snidey quote marks? Of course people can criticise him but criticise him on his record, don't have little digs about whether or not he's a "hero." (Not a word I'd have personally used to describe him anyway). Would the same person have made a point of calling Stan Bowles a "hero"? Or is that different? Everything suggests Les is at least trying to do the root-and-branch stuff this club has been crying out for years and years - trying to sort out the youth set-up, trying to re-establish us as a proper local club, and all the while working on a tight budget under a chairman prone to embarrassing public input on social media. I don't think he's faultless, or that it will even necessarily work - I do think he deserves credit for at least putting in the effort, and also for having real, long-term history with the club that means he gets what we used to be about more than certain other "heroes" out there. Of course fans are allowed a voice. The fans - collectively - are the heart of the club. But it doesn't mean individual fans don't talk out of their arse sometimes.
