International week 17:28 - Mar 29 with 2071 views | Wizaard | Watched a few games over the weekend. Just watching Scotland now, and I'm delighted to say that Gibraltar have just scored their first ever goal in competitive football. My daughter's PE teacher is playing upfront for them, yet they're drawing with Scotland. Anyone else watch the Fleetwood game? I had to check the control on the TV as I thought the volume button was broken. Local derby, but utterly lacking in anything you'd call atmosphere. A draw was probably the worst result for them both, doing neither any real favours. Can't say I've missed us losing this week, and it'll probably see the confirmation of relegation next week. Roll on summer.
International week on 18:10 - Mar 29 with 2056 views | Osbourne | Wizzard, Osbourne was at the Fleetwood v Preston game. It was a high octane game. Two cracking goals. The atmosphere at the ground was pretty lively and good, not sure why this should not of been picked up on the tv. Absolute full house, only spare seats were probably season ticket holders who for whatever reason could not attend. Osbourne didn't see any crowd problems. The only problem apparently, was the road works on the Preston - Fleetwood road which made it difficult for some of the Preston supporters to get there for the 2.15 kick off. 3 points would of been handy for both sides. Preston have a good chance of a top 2 finish. Fleetwood, surprisingly really, with it being their first season in Division 1, have a definite chance of getting either 5th or 6th league position, for a play off position. One of the Preston players was taken off on a stretcher. The player was being given oxygen as he was stretchered off. Hope it wasn't as bad as it looked. It was a physical game with quite a few yellow cards, if memory serves Osbourne well it was 5? However, the match was played in quite a good spirit and both sides should be applauded for that. The wind was really whipping towards the Preston supporters end and played a big part in the match. The pitch was wet too after all the recent rain. However, the playing surface looked pretty good quality, it really did, especially when one considers it is now almost April. Compared to Bloomfield Road it was a carpet. Over 5000 at Highbury. Osbourne enjoyed the afternoon and saw a good, high quality, quick game which either side could of won. A packed house at Bloomfield Road is different to a packed house at Highbury, everything is more compact at Highbury, but all in all Fleetwood FC gave everyone a good afternoon out. Osbourne wonders, having seen the high quality football on offer this afternoon, whether Blackpool will be playing either of these clubs next season? Blimey.

Trust me, on TV it didn't look like a high quality game and the atmosphere certainly didn't come through, but as always, there's a world of difference between watching on TV and being there, I accept that. Fleetwood don't look good enough to go up, and have it all to do, despite it looking like a narrow gap to the play offs. 12th place, having played a game more, and with a worse goal difference gives them plenty to do, although as you think we'll stay up, it will be a breeze Preston are four clear in the automatic place, although Swindon have a game in hand. What they do have, is forward options, but if they end up in the playoffs, that's bound to play on the fans' minds, and be reflected in the stadium. Wouldn't mind them both staying down and giving us a game next season. Bring it on.
