Apologies for p**sing over your parade twice this season, but we needed that win to help our cause to remain in Division 1 which we should do now On the subject of Surrey, they are not well run in my opinion - A well run club would being winning trophies, but they dont as was pointed out its been minimal this season. The T20 is a perfect example. They had many England Internationals playing and they still didnt make it to finals day. You can have a big budget and they certainly have that but as we know, you can have good players but they have to gel as well. Not the best team spirit from what I can see when I have seen them this season (4 days in total)

Although I'm gutted I still thanks Hants have had a superb season. If they can keep hold of the bowling attack and add one or two to the batting line-up we could still see the boy Vince lift the trophy next year!
Summer Cricket Thread on 18:01 - Sep 24 with 2172 views | denhamhoop2 | Absolute outrageous from India Womens team it's in the laws of the game but as far as the spirit of the game goes its alongside with the Aussie under arm ball v New Zealand. Ruined what could've been a great finish
Summer Cricket Thread on 18:55 - Sep 24 with 2123 views | Superhoops2808 | For me, having watched them at Canterbury on Wednesday, India was by far the better side and deserved the series win against a very inexperienced and naive young England side… BUT to see another England woman in tears in the space of a few days is horrible - that’s not the way to win a game and as many have said a warning would have been fine instead it was premeditated with another India player. Sadly, after the respect the fans from both countries and players for Goshwami it finished in an Indian side being booed off, so really Sharma ruined her teammates last match
Summer Cricket Thread on 20:57 - Sep 24 with 2066 views | thame_hoops | It also appeared very spiteful, they couldn’t get the last two batters out and resorted to that. It wasn’t like she was running out of her crease, her bat was still in the crease while the bowler was in action. Awful awful cricket. Indian cricket fans on social media are the absolute worst, very very toxic fan base.

I reflected on this again today, and I think to myself why would you want to do that at the home of cricket, Lords of all places? I don't think that Kaur was comfortable with it, but she has no choice but to back her players. But spite is probably the best word - They couldn't even let Dean get her 50, THEN do it. And all those young girls in the crowd watching that, really not a good way to grow the game. That will be remembered for many years to come | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Superb. Me and my dad went to day 2 at Worcester Tuesday, wasn’t a lot of play, wish we went yesterday. Funnily enough I was wearing my R’s gilet and an old fella came up to me wearing an R’s jacket… Some nice away games next year, Oval, rose bowl, edgbaston and old Trafford

I'm a bit of a KKR fan, I love Narine's mystery spin and Andre Russell's power hitting. By the way, if you want to watch the highlights online, don't bother with YouTube, where there are a lot of fan videos which claim to offer highlights but which are often just stills, go here to the official site, where all the highlights are available ad free: https://www.iplt20.com/videos/highlights

My main concern about the IPL is that Stokes doesn't get injured. Or more injured, anyway. Am slightly concerned that everyone seems confident Bazball is going to blow the Aussies away. I know it's worked almost everywhere else, but the Aussie attack is a serious step up to measure it against. Here's hoping.

I caught a bit of it last night. Is this the first season they've had substitutes? It's an interesting concept but just feels like they're trying to make it more and more like football.

Must admit that I'm not a big fan of the IPL and really think that Andre Russell is massively overrated. I still maintain that the best batters in T20 are either current or former test players, as they have a greater array of shots, can improvise and actually watch the ball, as opposed to the T20 specialists like Russell. Chris Gayle is a great example of a test cricket opener with an excellent batting average, who seamlessly transferred to the T20 arena in his latter years as a player and was dominant. My main concern is that there are some current England Test players who are playing out there and are running the risk of getting injured, which could mean that they'll miss the Ashes. Stokes, Wood and Archer spring to mind, all of whom are either currently carrying an injury (Ben Stokes) or are susceptible to injuries (Wood and Archer). Roll on the county cricket season from tomorrow. Essssssssssssex! [Post edited 5 Apr 2023 14:59]

Will be at Lords tomorrow think it will be a very hard season for Middlesex not sure the bowling is up to it in the top flight and the batting relies heavily on the Top 3 but who knows would be great to have a couple of wins over the Brown Crappers

I got my 1st season ticket for the brown hatters this year, mainly for the Ashes tickets.I’m not sure how many games I’ll be attending though. Another championship win would be nice, and possibly a 1 day final for good measure. It all depends on how many get called up for England, obviously not a problem that middx will have to cope with these days.

Surrey CCC = The North Battersea of cricket. Will sign anything and anyone that can hold a bat or bowl a ball.

Just bought my first Middlesex membership. £190 for the year and free access to all home matches of whatever version of the game, access to the pavilion and also to quite a few events too. And for an additional £50 can bring a guest along as well. Maximum of 40 days of cricket, which is one hell of a bargain. Looking forward to a great season on cricket both on the county and international level. First day for me will be Saturday, hopefully Bazball hasn’t quite migrated to the county game otherwise it could all be over by Friday.

And middx are like the old Yorkshire side then and only get players born within the county? When the best players spend all summer playing for England what are they supposed to do?

It’s my opinion that Middlesex don’t promote their membership enough. It is fantastic value. The £50 friends pass thing is annoying as it was free for members for the last two years, but that was a thank you for paying membership during Covid. But still, great value if you know someone that wants to go regularly with you. I will be there tomorrow afternoon for the last couple of sessions and will pop in over the weekend. We will be sat in the middlesex room, away from the cold. I’ve caught some of the IPL when I get in from work, saw some at the weekend, they have got to get away from these 4hr games. I’m not sure why the 90 minutes per innings isn’t being enforced

It was disappointing to see AFRIDI Sign for notts in the blast. Considering how we bent over backwards for him last year, and the reason given was that we were looking at a long-term agreement with him.
