Saints Favourites To Sign Spurs Full Back
Saturday, 25th Jan 2020 08:27

The media are reporting that Kyle Walker Peters has had talks with several Premier League clubs including Saints and that we are his preferred destination.

Kyle Walker Peters has a price tag that is far higher than the number of games he has actually played for Spurs, but several clubs are prepared to meet it and both Roy Hodgson and Ralph Hasenhuttl are said to have met with the player in the last week.

It seems now that his preferred destination is St Mary's where ironically he could play this afternoon for Spurs with whom he has played only 5 times this season, the last appearance in the Premier League being back in August and only once since September that being almost 2 months ago.

A fee of £15 million could secure his signature and it could be that he will be swapping the away dressing room for the home one fairly quickly after 5 pm this aftenoon.

His arrival will cast a big shadow over the future of Yan Valery who a year ago seemed to have a bright future at the club but then lost favour with Ralph Hasenhuttl and then was said by the club to have a succession of injuries and illnesses to explain his absence suggesting that his lack of game time is due to something off the field rather than on it.

I SO hope that this deal doesn't happen!

We are effectively swapping Targett for Walker Peters and increasing the wage bill into the bargain. Why? This can't happen.

If we've got £15m kicking around why not get Adam Lallana to sign a pre contract and bring him back to St. Marys. He won't cost a penny in transfer fees, is two footed, oozes quality, is used to playing for a team that plays a hard press and has loads of Premier League experience. He also used to be idolised here and I'm sure that could easily be rekindled. It's a no brainer.

Don't get in it Lord Lucan. I have seen so many posts on the forum from the resident idiots saying how much they hate him and would never have him back. Don't under estimate the childish nature of footie fans. I would agree with you and would love him back.

I would rather pay £8m for Wanyama. He’s only 28 and would really strengthen the midfield.
