I don't disagree with your very well written post there, but ultimately we are bottom of the division and extremely gash. Mark Robins had way more credit in the bank than cifuentes, and according to Clive was unhappy about a similar recruitment model to QPR being imposed on him. It really comes down to how much faith theyve got in the new structure. You always have to balance short term and long term, but we aren't ticking either box currently. But should marti carry the can for the current situation? Maybe not, but he will. But with a nice 3 year pay off, which we all could do with |

Yes i think youre right. We are probably going to vet a back to basics manager and sign a load of non analytics players while the analytics department keep their jobs and madsen etc sit in the reserves draining the money |

Fast car by tracy chapman gets me a bit. When i was getting divorced id moved into a tiny flat and was really fed up with my lorry driving job. It came on the radio and the line 'leave tonight or live and die this way' really hit me and i started sobbing my eyes out. Id never really listened to the words of the song before then, and in it it doesn't work out for the character. It did spur me on to make a few changes though, which was good, but does make me feel a bit emotional when i hear it |

Yes i think Marti is safe for a while. Its got to get to the point where we are cut miles adrift at the bottom on a similar points total to now after Christmas for him to get the boot. Not unimaginable at the moment though. |

Gary Penrice was decent. I reckon we'd take him now. I don't think Smyth is the problem either, i think there is something to work with. Work on the end product and thetes a decent player there. Surely thats what all these coaches are supposed to do. As opposed to some of the othrrs who are just gash |

I seem to remember Clive writing that several managers, hasselbaink, holloway, mclaren all ended up reaching the same conclusion, that they needed to play 3 central midfielders in theree to protect the defence. I think its probably even more imperative now reading hunterhoops excellent analysis above. You have to be a bit defensive, five players not contributing to the defence when out of possession is terrible. |

A frustrating watch. We dont have enough goals in the team, lots of application tonight, many good positions but somehow didn't really look like scoring. And unfortunately look a bit weak at the back too. Not so much individually but the link between the midfield and defence. And the full backs are exposed. Santos didnt get the cover needed |

Not a red for me. Ref has bought that due to the home players surrounding him. Although Santos maybe could have got a second booking not long before. We look reasonably competent, but the formation leaves the fullbacks a bit exposed. |

I think its outrageous really. Supposed to be the party of the working class, but they hate them. Just the middle class public sector workers wellbeing party now. I do think nostalgia is at the heart of brexit, because pubs and sports were an intrinsic part of the culture of this country and its gone downhill and they just want to kill it off totally. Doesn't anyone in the labour party like having a pint or a good time? Or are they all puritans |
| Forum Reply | Smoking outside pubs at 07:09 30 Aug 2024
Fair enough, i think it depends what the alternative is to the pub though. Im not saying thats what your kids do obviously, but there has been a rise in computer games, and round here kids hanging around in the car park taking that laughing gas. Personally i think playing sport/ games and having a few beers is better all round, but maybe that will just be a thing of the past |

I think tbis os a bad sign. Last time labour were in they did their best to kill off pubs with endless tax risrs, smoking ban followed by the alcohol escalator. Now theyve returned to finish the job. I am concerned about the local darts league im in, a fair few folk probably won't bother coming out anymore. And as some of them are old its probably not going to make much difference to them now. |

I disagree that he is bad. When he was derby manager they had a 30 point deduction, were playing with a team of kids, but if there hadn't been tge points deductrd, they would have been comfortable mid table. Compared to frank lampard who finished 6th with loads of money and mason mount on loan. Yet was portrayed as a miracle worker in the media. And who generally does well at Birmingham anyway |

I thought this was going to be grim, and unfortunately it is. Time to go 4-3-3, or 4--4-2 and stick a couple of people out on the wing. More bad body language, dont think bellingham is covering himself in glory either, looks a bit temper tamtrumy. Rubbish all round though |

The incoming labour government should be looking at all of this. Given that theyve pledged not to put up income tax or national insurance (beer and petrol tax rises here we go,) and there are huge demands on public services, it would make their life a hell of a lot easier if they can crack down on benefits, tax dodging, everything being discussed here |

The reason we have mass immigration is that there are millions of brits not working and claiming incapacity benefit. Neither party has faced up to this issue. There has to be a good percentage that arent genuine. There are quite a few in my local area. Thete is undoubtedly a lot of people struggling, but a lot of those on benefits dont seem to be doing too badly |

Whilst I share your concerns about what the tories will look like in a few years, sometimes things turn out differently. Less than five years ago the tories won a stonking majority, and Labour looked knackered after corbyn. Now they are on the cusp of the walloping majority. Who can tell |

I went to Canterbury yesterday (even though I'm a middlesex supporter), for the first time in years. The frustrating thing was kent battled really hard yesterday, and then totally imploded today. Parkinson showed the top order the application needed! |

His big misjudgement was that they were lagging badly in the polls, and so he tried to buy back some ukip votes by pledging a referendum. I don't think he expected to get a majority. In my opinion though,, he was decent in thd 2010-15 period, and I thought the coalition worked well. But that referendum was a cock up and they have turned to shit since |
