We played Corberan (West Brom bloke) 4 times last season. We won 3 times and drew once. I can't see him being much of an improvement on Martin. |

Leyton Orient, Bromley, Dagenham & Redbridge or Charlton away would all be good. And of course the Skates Wouldn't mind Salford as well as it means I could drink in Manchester and possibly see us win. |

Championship games are almost always televised. This means endless 12:30 kick offs for us - Sky will want most of our games when we go down. 12:30 KO is anything but sensible. |

I signed up on Friday. Some of the posts are a bit smug on there, but there is no Elon Musk, no Owen Jones and no SaintRob so it's not so bad for me. Plus Bluesky doesn't crash the moment I do anything more than scroll which is what my Twitter experience is like and I also get music stuff on there which I never got on Twitter post-Musk. Judgement so far: it's good but it's no Ugly Inside |

Seen a lot of people moving from Twitter to Bluesky. Anyone else done the same? What's it like over there? |
| Forum Reply | Mark Robins looking for a job at 15:11 7 Nov 2024
Robins is Championship level and really should have got Coventry promoted as they probably had a better squad than Luton in that play off final in 2023. I wouldn't bother getting him here. Moyes or Potter are our only options. |

Cameron Archer has scored 2 goals in 2 games. None of our other strikers have done that. ... [Post edited 20 Oct 21:06]

And those 20 minutes, when 2-1 down, are probably the most important parts of the game. Changing the team at that time can dictate games, as it did yesterday, so I don't know why you think this should excuse Onuachu from blame. I am not blaming Onuachu entirely for the defeat. His introduction weakened us, but so did Smallbone and Fraser. The blame ultimately lies with Russell Martin and all those f-ckers who didn't block Ayew's shot. Obviously he's not here for his pace, that's what makes his introduction so baffling and woeful. However, I'm keen to see what you think he is here for? With a goal tally of 0 and a fair few appearances when we went down, I'd be surprised if it was for his finishing ability. If we had brought on a quicker player to lead the line, say Adam Armstrong, we would have made it far more difficult for Leicester to play forward. Defending starts from the front. Onuachu hasn't gone backwards. He was never at this level in the first place. Turkey and Belgium are not the same as the Premier League. [Post edited 20 Oct 21:42]

Tall Paul was terrible today. Bringing him on killed our press because he has absolutely no pace. This allowed Leicester to play very easily through the lines from their defence. No one was there to stop them (though the midfield should be help partly responsible for this). I really cannot think of any attributes the bloke has. Just because he can score a few goals in Turkey does not mean we should give him time in the PL. |

Genuinely believe that one of these will happen. Strangely, I predicted Manning's involvement whilst in the pub at Bournemouth. Martin is desperate. He talks about tweaking the team and the system but he is tweaking something that is fundamentally broken which is why the selections are bound to be out of the ordinary |
| Forum Reply | Predictions For The Team Tomorrow at 12:19 18 Oct 2024
That is possibly our best lineup However, after playing no striker against Bournemouth and Manning and Onuachu's appearances at Arsenal it is my belief that Martin is on his last few throws of the dice. Therefore, I could see the following happening: - Onuachu starts - Manning in midfield - Sulemana, Cornet and/or Smallbone being involved - Sugawara starting despite his assist for Saka at Arsenal And to clarify, none of these options make me happy |
| Forum Thread | Sport Republic - Building for the future but neglecting the present at 12:37 1 Oct 2024
Having failed to win in our opening 6 games I think it is obvious that there are issues within the squad. We went and panic-bought two sub-par wingers in Fraser and Cornet leaving us with no proven Premier League quality out wide. Once again we have no clue where the goals will come from because none of our strikers appear to be at the correct level. These issues are obvious to me and likely a few others on here so why don't Sport Republic see this? We have signed 3 players who have immediately gone out to Goztepe plus Ronnie Edwards and Nathan Wood for a combined price of £7 million (Source: Transfermarkt) who are all supposed to lead us into the future however we have neglected issues that have plagued us for years and continue to plague us now. How much time and resources have gone into scouting these 'future stars' that could have gone into fixing the issue of the lack of goals in our team? |

Will the social credit system affect my purchases at StMarys? For example, if I pull my pink replica shirt over my Lonsdale hoodie and slam the backboards like an enraged captive gorilla while singing FOLLOW FOLLOW FOLLOW then does this mean I'll redeem enough points to enjoy a Sapporo out of a plastic beaker? Also, as is tradition for new posters, what are your top 3 biscuits? |

I believe I did Top 3 biscuits when I joined back in January. Top 3 Spoons: V Shed - Bristol The Moon In The Square - Bournemouth The Albert and Lion - Blackpool None of them however can top The Kingsland Tavern or MELLO MELLO |

1. Seems like all the decent pubs in town were shut due to the threat of far right riots. Frustrating as me and my old man wanted to drink in Steingarten. Ended up having to go in The Standing Order Wetherspoons for cheap pints and microwaved 'food'. 2. Decent view in the Northam Wall but the safe standing has obviously been done on the cheap. Basically just some scaffolding bolted onto the end of the rows. Also, are there meant to be bars outside? There was some sort of structure being built in the car park but no idea if you're meant to get drinks in there. Would be good if that was possible as the queues in the concourse are still big even with a smaller crowd. If I want to get something (which is rare as generally everything they sell is way overpriced) I don't really want to be missing much of the game. 3. Ronnie Edwards, Charly Alcaraz and Ben Brereton Diaz were my standout players. Edwards seemed composed and confident which is impressive for such a young player. Alcaraz was direct and seemed to be the catalyst for all our attacks in the first half. This is a quality that very few players have in our squad and with it seeming more and more unlikely that we will get O'Reilly we should try our hardest to keep Charly. Diaz's goal was taken well and if he gets proper service he could be a great player for us. 4. We have one more friendly left to play and I'm still none the wiser as to what our starting XI will be. I get that it's good to experiment with the team now considering these games don't mean much but it would be nice if we could see an actual spine established. So far, based off our pre season team sheets, the only players who I think are sure to start are Downes and McCarthy. I think we all know what our best backline is but does Martin as it has changed every game. 5. The pink shirt looks even worse in person |

| Forum Reply | Is Matt O'Riley really that good? at 19:14 30 Jul 2024
The figure I've heard we're willing to pay is £35 million That's an awful lot of money for us to spend, especially considering that we could still do with another striker and a GK. Plus losing Charles means we would then have to find another defensive midfielder willing to be second string to Downes. This could prove difficult. Im sure O'Riley has plenty good qualities but when you think about the impact bringing him in will have on the rest of the squad I'm not sure this is the best move for us |

Blocking him on Twitter was one of the best things I've done. I'm not really a fan of blocking people I disagree with as its really quite immature but he is a nob |

Nike use DRIFIT technology on their kits which helps improve breathability via moisture wicking fabric. This will be immensely useful to Rusty when he goes into a cold sweat about playing two full backs at full back. |

But why Ticket Master? Is there any benefit to them doing it rather than the SFC Ticket Office? Personally, I hate Ticket Master. The fees you have to pay on top take the absolute p1ss and I'm not a fan of e-tickets. |
