Marti would only say if someone was available for the game the next day. On everyone else, there was either no update or “they’re making good progress”. The “making good progress” would wind me up. I should bloody hope so, I’d rather he said “unfortunately Frey isn’t making good progress, because Koki thought it would be a laugh to pull Frey’s chair away when he was about to sit down for lunch. Unfortunately that’s set back Frey a few weeks on getting fit and a few more months for fear of him killing Koki” |

Yeah I was actually pleasantly surprised by the update. Morrison can partner Cook, and Paal we now have an actual left back. This means Dunne at right back and almost our first choice back 4. And as you say Field can then move to partner Varane. And Saito move further forward. Don’t want to think about the other positions though. |

Well only 1 of the injured players is one of the new boys. |

Or is it just that JCS and Colback are injury prone players. And we got lucky last year. We shouldn’t be so reliant on 2 players like that. But they are difficult to replace. |

Well this thread is about getting rid of Nourry. If he leaves today, it won’t impact how many goals we score, how we defend and how many injuries we have. I don’t know what the answer is. But I would add that he didn’t sign off on the playing squad. He got rid of loads of dead wood and others that didn’t want to be here. All the injured players except Dembele were from last season. I’d say we had huge issues with the squad last season and shows what a miracle Marti performed but also how lucky we were with injuries. Should we have signed more strikers? Of course Madsen seems to be a terrible signing. Why did we sign Ashby and Santos? Those are down to Nourry clearly but was it just him involved? Did Marti have a say? The fact that Madsen turned up and went straight into starting side, shows to me that he must have had some involvement. |

I’m just trying to be a bit more balanced. I don’t believe our situation is down to 1 person. Injuries are the main reason we are in this situation. It proves to me that we have to sell / get rid of JCS and Colback. We can’t be so reliant on 2 players that are always injured. Fox should go too. |

Shift from UK - isn’t that because it’s cheaper? There had been quite a few that wanted us to look further than Uk - bring in 10 players…..looking at injured we have of last seasons players, we needed 15 players not 10! - we don’t know they only use data - everyone wanted Dykes gone. But yes we should have signed a left back and more strikers. We don’t know that Hayden was an option and I don’t it was we want Ashby not Hayden. - we don’t know the contract lengths Before season, Nourry said signing players was down to him, Belk, Marti and Xavi. |

What on earth is he on about? 3 players that left are now sat on the bench in championship and league 1. Not sure we had much choice in 2 of them and don’t tell me everyone thinks Lyndon is the saviour now. The rest of them are either without a club or playing non league. The issue is that of our starting xi from this season and last, 3 of them are injury prone (JCS, Colback and Frey). And our only cover for JCS got injured too. Added to that we have no cover for our left back and Chair has been injured for most of the season. And our cover for our cover in defence in Fox is also injury prone. Other than the Madsen signing which costs us in so many ways, it’s having an injury prone core to our squad that’s the problem. We were lucky last season. We can criticise the new signings but of our starting xi last season, begovic, Dunne, JCS, Cook, Paal, Field, Colback, Willock, Anderson, Chair, Dykes/Frey……….2/3 have left and 4/5 are injured. That means we have only 4 players that could now start that were starters last season. Even if we signed tried and tested English players, I’d still say that’s a huge upheaval in personnel and very difficult to do anything than struggle this season. |

His point about injuries in that last season is very relevant to our situation today. |

I didn’t think what he said was that bad. Klopp could be a complete bully to officials. But with the drugs, that’s his career over. |

You can certainly be partner in your 30s. Maybe not equity partner. A Director in late 20s, also possible. But granted I’m thinking (from experience) more of your Grant Thorntons and RSMs. Do we need to compare to big 4 though? Partner at big 4 is too senior for CEO at qpr I’d say. Again, to reiterate, I think it is looking like a foolish appointment. But I’m not blaming him for everything either. |
| Forum Reply | MC has got to go at 14:02 13 Nov 2024
I’m not defending his appointment. Far from it. I’m saying that blame for our position seems to be all on Nourry. I don’t think that’s fair. |
| Forum Reply | MC has got to go at 14:00 13 Nov 2024
Why are we comparing him with levels in a big 4 accounting firm? It’s not just experience it’s more down to revenue levels you’re being in at these big firms. I would say being Partner of big 4 is way more senior than being CEO or QPR. Wasn’t his position Managing Partner at Retexo? He was obviously doing well at such a young age. The fact he is young and inexperienced and posh shouldn’t be reasons to criticise him. Criticise those that hired him. You claim they did not diligence? What evidence is there of that? I’m not denying we are in a poor state. But the blame has to be shared amongst more people than just him. I think if some think about it, Nourry’s communication strategy and being posh means that he gets more grief than he would normally. I do think we have to be more balanced. Do I think we should have appointed him? No. But he’s also not solely responsible for the performances this season. |
| Forum Reply | MC has got to go at 13:35 13 Nov 2024
He was Managing Partner at Retexo who have some impressive clubs on their CV. To say he’s an Associate level at Deloitte is also way off the mark. |

Agree but we can’t use his age as reason to criticise him. Criticise those who appointed him when so young. I do believe if he was older and sounded less posh, whether people wouldn’t be so critical of him after 12 months in the job. [Post edited 13 Nov 12:29]

The no due diligence being done it just pure guesswork. He was much more senior than an Associate or even an Associate Director at Deloitte. Either Partner or maybe Director level. He’s got a lot to answer for and he’s clearly partly to blame but so are others, including the players, Marti, Belk and the board. The fact he’s young and posh shouldn’t come into any judgement on him. |

100%. Didn’t Madsen basically sign and start his first game? If Marti had no knowledge or input, surely he’d have had a wanted training sessions to take a look at him. |
