It's a huge game now tomorrow. In our last 7 away league games we've only scored more than one goal once, I have a feeling we'll need to improve on that tomorrow to win. We started the season winning 4 out of our first 6 away games but since then have won 2 in 8.
More in hope than expectation but Jim really needs to drum into the players the importance of this game in the season given Halifax's proximity to us in the league.
I don't think this team is good enough to win the league but I do think its good enough to get into the playoffs. If we don't then I do think its down to the manager rather than the players but we'll see what happens.
In 31 years of watching Dale that's comfortably in the top 10 worst games I've seen at Spotland.
Playing a team as bad as them we had one shot on target which was a hit and hope from 20+ yards. They had equal chance to score than we did and we were completely out of ideas.
We were awful tonight. Pedestrian and never posed a threat to Oldham and they knew it. They managed the game well knowing that we weren't likely to score. Disappointing after Saturdays performance.
Surely this is where the benefit of having wealthy owners should come in. We're not expecting them to spend millions on players and wages but the pitch is integral to having a football club and a working pitch is needed to make it sustainable. We must be losing thousands to these postponements and potentially even more if our fixture congestion catches up to us.
This is where I think we're heading. The pitch clearly can't handle any adverse weather and we're only a 3rd of the way through winter so there's plenty more to come.
When will we get to the point where we have to look at playing games away from Spotland and actually doing something with the pitch? What can we do at this time of year?
Defeat lies at the managers feet on this one I'm afraid. We've gone from 2-0 down to 3-2 and he's killed all momentum with the tactics and the subs inviting them to come and beat us.
Theres no hiding from the fact that we were really poor tonight and offered absolutely nothing going forward. Neither were they but they took their chance and go home with 3 points.
Let's hope they regroup and produce something better on Tuesday.
I am worried about the amount of injuries we have and how we seem to be getting them but not that worried about goals. There are plenty of goals throughout the team with everyone seemingly chipping in. How many times have we had the same starting XI lining up every week? Those players that are part of the rotation of the team aren't going to be getting the same level as someone like Mitchell who is playing 90 mins every week.
Haaland has scored 60% of City's league goals, Haughton has scored 61% of Fyldes goals, its the main strikers job to. I'm sure Mitchell will go through dry spells again at some point, he didn't score for the first 5 games.
It was another great performance for the first 50 minutes. The striking difference between this season and last is that we can rotate a lot of the team and there's very little to no drop off in performance.
We unnecessarily panicked after they scored their first and were under pressure for the rest of the game. Last night showed the importance of TAR to the team and the way we play. They hadn't had a sniff down our right hand side all night until he went off but when he did, their left back had pretty much free rein to go up and down the line as he wanted and it caused us a lot of problems.
