De Guzman on 15:50 - Jan 1 with 8558 views | andrew | Oh so it's all good, he set up a goal for bony who was offside, yet all the chances he missed, balls he gave away, 50-50s he s#it out on can be forgotten about! he must have had an amazing game.

De Guzman on 15:51 - Jan 1 with 8536 views | JackFish | JDG very good today. If you want to point a finger at one of our midfield I'm not sure what Shelvey contributed this afternoon.
De Guzman on 15:52 - Jan 1 with 8528 views | Neath_Jack | JDG is the lazy mans easy target. Played well today, made a few mistakes, but show me a player that didnt.

De Guzman on 15:55 - Jan 1 with 8474 views | Dull1Thomas | No way would I consider myself a fan of JdG but he wasn't too bad today - maybe because we were attack minded. Positionally poor on the back foot.

So instead of creating goals, you would prefer it if he was to risk injury in 50/50s and only pass the ball backwards so not to risk giving the ball away? May I ask if you were one of our many supporters who idolised Bauza a couple of seasons ago because he would chase down the opposition keeper a couple of times a game while abusing Jason Scotland for being lazy? (Not that I have anything against Bauza, he was a decent player who played a big part in getting us to where we are today) [Post edited 1 Jan 2014 15:55]

Spot on, I am a fan of Jonjo but thought he was poor today. De Guzman continues to frustrate but I would say he's been our best midfielder from the last two games.
De Guzman on 16:00 - Jan 1 with 8416 views | Swanfan1 | Defensively he didnt help Canás enough against a tuff opposition, going forward he was a benefit.

De Guzman on 16:08 - Jan 1 with 8368 views | stircrazyjack | He tired along with Shelvey at 55 mins today but played well barring a few shite corners. His one touch pass n go and intent was top class today
De Guzman on 16:11 - Jan 1 with 8345 views | JonTheJack | JDG was JDG. No tracking back leaving Canas to do all of it. Slow in posession, but supplied Bony with a pinpoint cross which got us back into the game. His corners were truly shocking again, though. Always ending up saying the same thing with him. I think he slows us down far too much, but our goals normally come through something he does. What can we say?

I thought he had a decent game, passing was good, always moving and looking for space, I would say though that we need a free kick specialist as most are wasted by him..but overall, was well worth his place today. Remember we are in the Prem, playing against the richest team in the world today, who have £20-£30 million players in every position. And only just lost it by the odd goal.

That's exactly how I saw it JDG had a decent game, if anyone was to blame today, defenders not closing players down quick enough. But overall a better performance, now need to tighten things up at the back........and hey presti, a nice win will be the result!

True. Poor set pieces but his overall game play was very good today, as it was against Villa. He did get outmuscled at times but so did all of our players bar Bony. Some of JDGs link play was silky smooth today and Pozuelo's introduction supplemented it nicely.
