Lets have an honest assessment of bony today ,and not because we've signed a 12 mill player he's got to be good, a real head thinking not heart assessment of his display and I'll kick it off he was terrible today

If we had a winger who could cross then he'd have had 3 or 4 this season already.Just hope he doesn't let his head drop.It can be frustrating when you're there ready to nod it home and the ball flies 10 ft over your head. He'll score for fun with his head, given the right service.

He is allways a massive threat when we make passes in the air.

He has that killer instinct that we have lacked.

He will do just fine.

Why are you having a go at me? You pick on my "doom and gloom" and now youre picking on GeoffThom and his opinion. Perhaps you should develop an opinion of your own and post that, rather than having a go at others?

You know my opinion, Bony had a decent game and doesn't deserve the word terrible to be described for his display.

We got the lad from Trinidad, Scotland, Scotland
The greatest striker we've ever had, Scotland, Scotland
He'll score a goal in every game & when he scores you'll hear his name
He's Jason Scotland Swansea's number 10!

Oh I mean 9

We will see ,I hope I'm proved badly wrong for the sake of club and player but at the mo I've seen enough false dawns down the years with players at many clubs and the omens are not good in my opinion

What, like the fact he's linked up well with Michu and scored on his European and Premiership debuts for the club, those omens?

Even the bad times were good.

Rossshaw is the only one making objective sense because almost everyone else is arguing something different: Was he good today? Was he good yesterday? Will he be good tomorrow? Is he a good player? Etc.

In my humble opinion he was not at his best today because he was too often standing near the "D" between two opponents, waiting for a pass, and when it came, he passed it straight back.

Does that mean he's not a good striker? No. Does that mean that he won't fit in better as he learns the other players' strengths? No.

We need to give him a bit more time before we strike him off the roster.

Forgive the hard words here -> Regarding those who do not appreciate the original post, that's the PlanetSwans way - someone always finds someone [or two] to examine from a negative viewpoint. Live with it by either contributing or reading another thread.

Although I will say that today Bony made more of a contribution in the last 20 minutes of the game than he did in the first 70.

I don't care. I'm old. I don't have to.

What the hell do you all expect though?
We paid £12 mill for a striker (that's not his fault)
He bagged 30 odd goals in a crappy Dutch team in a Crappy Dutch league (compared to PL)
He's not fit enough at the moment, he's slow, slightly injured but is strong as an ox
He needs a lot of time to settle into the (big) step up in standards/defending
The team/players need time to get used to him too
He's generally an impact player from the bench until the above areas are improved
He'll get there... Eventually, just needs a bit of time...

Why do you think ML is so desperate for another PL proven striker?

Gutted Borrini has gone to Sunderland on loan mind.

So you're saying he contributed more when he was sat on the bench than he did when he was on the pitch?

I'm more than happy with what i've seen so far.He looks immense and i love how defenders just bounce off him. He'll come really good and threads like this will be bumped and posters disappear.

My only fear is our crossing to him, inparticular Routledge.I know he set one up for him in Europe but our crossing is dismal at times and we're missing out on a huge slice of Bony's talents.

You've got a point about crosses but that then implies our wingers or fullbacks aren't good at them ? Feed the bull and he will score !

Thanks. Clearly you did very little of that in school if your spelling and grammar is anything to go by.

Then again, you can't tell the difference between Jason Scotland and Andrea Orlandi so i'm not really sure why i'm thanking you.
