If he goes, and it's still if imo, he'll miss Spurs, West Ham and Man City. he was back for Feb last year so it's not the end of the world really. Play Hoilett in those games or sign a replacement on a months loan | | | |

I don't think he has any choice but to go.
He is a symbol of Moroccan football, and can't be seen to be ignoring his country (even if he fell out with the previous coach Eric Gerets before).

Think he misses a minimum of 4 games but 3 of which are at home where he does tend to have more of an effect.

Don't blame Adel, every player should be striving to play for their country and get international recognition, you sign players of African nationality then expect to lose them for the ACN, which happens to be one of the oldest international competitions so shouldn't be moved just to suit the PL. |  |

We'll just have to accept it and hope Hoilett takes his opportunity, or Granero if he's still around. Both could do well.
If we think about the rest of the season it could actually be detrimental to Adel's frame of mind if he didn't go - its a big part of his identity.

err he has no choice to go if selected other than to retire from international football, and that in itself would cause repercussions for him and his family in morocco as he would be seen as abandoning the country.

Unfortunate but there'll not be many clubs in this situation with better replacements ready to step in. Granero or Hoilett really do need to take this chance by the scruff of the neck.
The thing about Adel is that a team featuring him will need a lot of compromise elsewhere to make up for the things he can't do. With the personnel available his absence might free us up to try some alternative tactics. That's the optimist's take anyway :)
Also remember that Newcastle will be without Tiote and Wigan without Kone which will be big losses in our favour. Also of the teams we play in that time no Adebayor, Maiga, and in particular Yaya Toure. Not bad. |  | | |
