NFL Superbowl predictions (non QPR) 10:32 - Sep 5 with 3968 viewsTonto

Yup the NFL starts tonight.

So whos going to the big dance? (yeah yeah if you don't like the NFL I get it - no need to post it).

NFC - Between the Giant, Eagles and Packers. the fact that 2 of those come from the NFC eat makes me think that they will be beaten up at the play offs, so that giove the Packers the better shot. 49ers defence is exciting, but I dont like Alex Smith that much.

AFC - Lots of picks for the Moo Cows/Texans, but they have lost Mario Williams who was a significant part of that defence. Similarly Baltimore have lost ray Lewis for a while, but may have him back for the playoffs. Always difficult to look beyond the Pats.

so after all that I'll go for Eagles vs Texans.

I just hope for god that the Eagles dont win it... (god I hate them)

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

I'm a Vikings fan, so this season can't possibly be worse...

Packers for the Superbowl i reckon, they've improved their pass rush and haven't weakened anywhere else.

Have you seen the Giants schedule!? They have to play 7 teams that made the play-offs last year. That and the injuries they have to the defence rules them out.

Boring and predictable i know, but I can't see past Green Bay and the pats have done great trades/draft.

The only team I can see upsetting those two is the Eagles (spit).

If somebody cares to breakdown the teams or post a link that has a breakdown that somebody that doesn't follow the teams at all will understand that will be great. First time I have had Sky for the season starting and plan to catch as many games as possible, usually only watch the superbowl or the odd highlights, be good to know more than nothing!

EDIT - This is helpful if anybody is interested!

american football is for wusses! not as hard as rugby...yawn HA!

Ray lewis injured is news to me?! don't you mean terrell suggs?

Interesting to see you have the texans down for the superbowl, that must kill you being a cowboys fan.

I think new orleans could do it, or maybe the 49s. GB obviously a contender. Maybe the redskins will surprise with RG3 and maybe the broncos could do well. cant wait for tonights game.

Andrew luck will be good to watch

thats because the giants play the AFC north this season where 3 of that div made the playoffs but cant see cincinatti or pittsburgh doing well. as a ravens fan our schedule is really tough playing the NFC east as well

Tend to agree with this.

Don't get all the hype for the Texans, I'm not even sure they'll make the playoffs.
I think the Bears could surprise a few, as long as they can keep Cutler upright.

This year is the most open I can remember.

Green Bay will be strong and New England will probably win the AFC.
I'm hopeful that my Seahawks will go 10 & 6 and win the West.

So People, have your predictions changed?

The pack losing, RGIII outstanding, the champions losing, older manning racking up yards.

What a fantastic opening and with more games tonight

the Eagles looked rubbish. 4 interceptions for Vick -against Cleveland FFS! But, unfortunately, they still won.

Denver beating the Steelers was a bit of a surprise. My Cowboys beating the Giants was an enjoyable surprise (sorry Richard). I'm not so sure the 49ers beating the Pack was that big a surprise, as the 49ers are a good side (if they had a better QB they would be superbowl favourites).

But I'll stick with my prediction for now...

Still recovering from the revelation that the Redskins might actually be alright this season. They're the live match next Sunday on Sky - let the collapse commence.

Read a little bit about that, rookie QB smashing it up....

It said he was the number 2 draft pick. Who was the first?

suspect the Eagles to be there abouts.

my 'team' are the Redskins but would also like to see the Ravens do well.

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

Andrew Luck I presume - lost first game for the Colts against the Bears.
