My girlfriend is an Aussie and her dad was in the Australian Army when she was growing up, so this is kind of a big deal for her. She wants us to do the Kokoda Trail one day.

The Australian War Memorial in London is probably the best memorial I've ever seen. The names of every single place of birth for every Australian soldier to have died with the battle honours highlighted. Well worth a look this summer if you're in Green Park.

Got back yesterday from a 6 day trip to friends in Belgium. We visited some of the war graves etc during the trip and finished up at the Menin Gate in Ypres on Saturday night for the last post which doubled as an Anzac day tribute as well, with lots of Aussies in attendance. It was very moving evening.
